Have just joined this site. Only just found it. I have been hanging out in Thumpertalk.com.
My name is andy. I am 35. Married (sort of ) and have a 5yo daughter and twin 2yo boys.
I smashed my ankle up pretty bad on dec 4th on the mx track and still have 6 weeks to go before i can walk again. So i am selling the mx bike and have just ordered a new 2004 XT600E for adventure rides as MX is hard on ankles...
Glad to see we have a forum like this in NZ and you will be hearing more from me in the future regarding roads to ride etc.

Looking forward to getting back on the bike and exploring those gravel back roads. :2thumbsup

Thanks Dracula oops i mean alucard :)
Nice Virago...
Last had a road bike 3 years ago. A VFR750FL sold it as it wasn't getting used. And when it did get used I spent too much time looking in my mirrors for cops....
Looking forward to a cruisier ride on the XT.

It's always good to have a new face on here. My riding style differs from yours, in that I avoid gravel like the plague!

Have fun with the new bike when you get it.
Regards,
David.

Great. Will look forward to it. Hanging out to ride again. haven't been without a bike since I was 15 and don't intend to be without now..... It's hard being forced to sit out for so long. but then I had to try to be Darryl King!

I'm not surprised seeing as youre on an R1... I was the same on my road bikes but then I've had both a road and an offroad bike to choose from most of the time.
I hated gravel on my VF1000R and that weighed twice what your R1 does.

Hiya Andy.

Good to see a few more dirt riders joining. It can only be a good thing for KB.
Enjoy yourself here until that XT starts dragging you out for a ride ...

Ah,welcome - the XT600E was supposed to stop last year ready for the new XT660,but they are still in the shops and I'm seeing plenty of new ones on the road for some reason,so what's the price today??

I'm pumping my XT400E out to 621cc soon,it's got a stupid noisy Supertrapp and a 20 litre Acerbis tank - they are almost the last of the simple bikes made, super reliable but you can fix them any where anytime,I use mine almost exclusivly for gravel roads, from Waiuku the world is at your door step...

Welcome aboard Andy. Good to see another XT man on the site.
(I have a XT400 in my shed, looking for a new home. Great reliable fun bikes)

I was thinking of getting the XT660R but the retail is going to be $12495 sure it's not a bad price for a fuel injected 660 single to compete with the F650 etc but i'm not likely to get enough out of the sale of my MX bike to cover that so my friendly yamaha dealer is going to do me a demon deal on an XT6E if I go and look after his shop for him while he has a holiday if Fiji..... Couldn't really say no could I?.

The XT600 has just been discounted to dealers to shift the last unsold items before the XTR gets here. Retail was $9995 should be less now.

How old are the triplets?? Gets a bit tricky with twins at 2YO they both take off in different directions.... Trying to beat that out of them :) Triplets would be worse would it not.... Always amazed how different our twins are.
