View Full Version : WGTN HELP: 19 Sept...can I borrow your 250?

Well yahoo I just passed my Faux full license test on the SV in the shitty rain too. However the instructor advised that given the wording of my exemption letter (and despite the advice given by the LTSA call centre woman) I should borrow a 250 to sit the proper test on that way avoiding any push back at all from the testing officer.
SO - I need some kind person to lend me their reliable, road legal 250 next Friday (19th) from around 11am - 1.30pm.
When I sat my restricted in May I borrowed one of someone but they have moved away and this is no longer an options - so I crawl on bended knee to the lovely welly members of KB.
Thankyou in advance for your kind responses and offers.:sunny:

Yeah I feel much better after my practise run today - I just HATE tests...always get a bit flustered.
Had a rather shameful experience before we got out of the carpark today but once I was away it was a piece of wees. NOt stressed about it at all now...well not until I show up on the day anyway :sweatdrop
I have one chance to nail it you see - otherwise I gotta wait another 6 months.
Thanks everyone for the offers too I have two really good options up my sleeve now so so long as neither falls through I am sorted :2thumbsup SO THANKS WELLY KBers - you are stars!!!

Did you think about chucking some indicators and lights on the sled, registering and warranting it then using it for your test?
I dare you to suggest that to Craig

NO WAY man!!! The SLed is for bucket racing only - it would mess too much with my racing mojo to take that on the road!
...anyway if I could afford what would be required to make that thing road legal I'd have put new sticky rubber on the SV already!!!

What a cool bike! :niceone:
Big thanks and praise to RantyDave and Mrs RantyDave.
This afternoon on a gorgeous sunny day I picked up the very beautiful VTR250 that I shall be using to earn my full license on next Friday.
What an awesome bike! Really comfy nice smooth power delivery and so flickable and confidence inspiring :sunny:
(ps: I will not scrape the pegs I promise - though it would be so easy and is very tempting...I must and will resist :innocent:)
If there are any newbees out there that are looking for a good learner, commuter, nice round town bike get one of these! AND if you happen to have stuffed your shoulders through offs at the buckets and other such type activities then even better! Very comfy bike. I can see why people like HOnets and Speed Triples and other bikes with that kind of riding position.
Also I have to reflect on the fact that I am clearly just getting old and weary and I might need to look at a less sporty positioned ride at some stage :sweatdrop
Anyway - thank you sir! I look forward to returning your little beauty to you with my full license paper in hand ;)
FOR MR and MRS RantyDave - I really will not scrape the pegs or anything else on it's pretty little body! I promise :sunny:

There is a lot to be said for neck and back comfort, being able to see EVERYTHING around you and the feeling of the wind hitting almost every part of your body... yeeehaaaaa!!

It's the easiest to ride bike in the entire world, that's what that is.
I never got anywhere near dragging the foot pegs, but then I don't have a dodgy past in bucket racing :)

Thanks again to MR and Mrs RantyDave
Nailed it...one peice of advise I was given during my practise test was 'denounced' by the tester though and he was a bit stern in asking me why I did it - when I explained he said ok but NO so I went on from there and did the opposite. AND yay! I passed I passed oh yeah yeah yeah...pity it so effing cold here otherwise I'd be straight on the SV...need some food though got me a hunger headache
See yall out there :niceone:

Thanks BC and DB. I knew I'd be alright too...on some level ;) Was feeling the pressure though - everyone expected me to pass and I HATE tests.
All good though - just about to down some crumpets and do a quick circle round the inlet for my first tootle as a fully licensed rider on my luffley bike

 sure that's what I meant! You just need to be aware that little 'SV' must be made aware of the location of your conveniences ;)
Anyway you can ride mine if I can ride yours ...what you got anyway?

You wouldn't want to ride my nana bike. 'Or is it just me that rides like a nana and there's nothing wrong with the bike :o '
I will be going around the inlet myself shortly. Heading to Whitby to do some work on my rental. I ALWAYS have to do the full loop a couple of times before getting there. The bike just refuses to turn into Whitby first time around.
