Hey...
I recently got my lerners licence
I had only had it for a week when dad took me down to cold kiwi this year on a GN250, going 80km an hour tops, so it was a pritty slow ride down.
we went up to Taupo for the night on the thursday, and left for wiruro on the friday, there was a little misty stuff that was hard to see though for a little while
but it was soon gone.
when we got to wirouru and the track to cold kiwi I was thinking, gravel, okay, let go... got to the top of the first hill and stoped though I was gana be sick  i was so sceard. I was like  im not going down it. it was sooo steep and really thick gravel. thankfully dad had the bike to bike radio so he was able to tell me what to do on the way down the track to the site, and I made it thea with out crashing =)
the whole weekend I was thinking if I would make it back out again.
I enjoyd my weekend away with dad nd jess lots, sleeping in the tent was a little cold... just a little ya know....
Not sure what else to say...
I made it back out alright, didn't crash or anything =)
the ride home was a long one, and a little cold, but sunny :sunny: and when I got home I was absolutle exuasted, but very happy
:done:

We went past you a few times on the way home. Looked like you were having a ball but were being stalked by a MK3 cortina :). We all stopped at the same Cafe.

Agreed. I've just started learning to ride and to go cross country with only a week on your learners is courageous.... and no crashes! Nothing like that to give your confidence a massive boost. Most people only venture 'round the local suburb for the first few weeks.

Good on you. That gravel road down to the Cold Kiwi has upset a few people over the years...sorts the bikers out from the Sunday Posers!
I'd say you will be a better rider for the experience.
Welcome aboard the site btw

Great post - I enjoyed reading it - and welcome to KB.
In your first week you have more experience riding than many L-platers get in 6 months!
You are well on your way to be a 1st rate :first: biker. Best of luck to you.
Hey, you and your dad should get over to Edgecumbe and meet up with DangerousBastard and his son. I reckon you 4 would hit the road in fine form.

That stuff gives me the shakes real bad after about 30mins! I only drink Monster Energy or Red Bull now as a result.:eek5:
