Frosty, man up and fly down and ride it home. Jeez, call yourself a Mentor.

You have got a week (nearly) before you have to be anywhere important.

If yer not asking for any one to asses it's worthiness or pay for it, just grab it and store it and it would fit in a Honda accord estate. I may be able to assist. Let me know mate.

Either way, good luck next week.

I can pick it up for you Frosty and store it for a bit at another location in Paraparaumu? Sorry I can't bring it up or store it here at home though (too many toys of our own!).

It would have to be today (this afternoon) though as i don't get up there often, and the other downside is that in order to pick it up, it will have to be a weekend and with a weeks notice. :sunny:

BUT other than those little hiccups - I am good to go :Punk: Let me know.

Right, wheres this thing currently located? As it stands Clivoris is coming up from Porirua to palmy, and could bring it up, we're meeting him there and coming back up to Auckland... The transport thread (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=82422)

Grrr. Bloody thing needs a bit of work before it'll even start and go properly.

Need to strip the carb and I have about a million hours work to do this weekend AND it'll be shite weather this weekend too.

Kids NOT happy.

Tony - I took the seat off to check the oil level. Turns out it's had the oil tank removed and the inlet pipe from the oil coiled up and tied up at the motor.

If you throw petrol and oil into the tank at a 30:1 mix is that still going to do the same thing? Or are we looking at a problem here?

I flushed the carb out but it's still not starting so I'll clean out the jets and replace the spark plug (it's filthy - bloody smokers).

MATE--wot kinda mechanic are ya?
Drain the tank, drain the carb, clean out the jets -all of em. Put a new plug in and wammo itll go.

Turns out the petrol was shite. D'oh. That's what I get for being a cheap bastard and trying to use the existing petrol.

Thanks for the advice on removing the second pilot jet - it runs quite well without it.

Tim experienced his first wheelie followed by his first highside. Jumped up straight away and shouted "That was fricken awesome!"

Unfortunately I was snapped shortly after showing him the right way to wheelie a quad.

Apparently that's not very responsible.

Yes well, Tim's lost skin on his shoulder, knee, elbow and hip.

Gini most philosophical about the whole thing. Gave him the arnica. Tim went to bed tonight insistent that it didn't hurt at all and that he was spending tomorrow mastering the quad.

We'll see how much he hurts tomorrow morning when all the bruises come up.

All part of life's rich learning experiences. He'll be fine. He's loving it.

Of course I'm gonna have to buy one now. And his uncle didn't help tonight by offering him his pit bike for a couple of weeks too...
