View Full Version : New Zealand police must be real hard up for staff

I read in the Harold with great displeasure today that if you are a Sikh and you are in the NZ Police you can now swan around with a dark blue Nappie on your noggin. I call this the thin end of the wedge what next. Foreign monkeys should not be allowed to cause the traditional police uniform to be changed just to suit their religion.

At least he's willing to do his bit.

If you are a real scouser, then you are just as much a "foreign monkey" as he is.

If you are locally assembled, but from scouse stock then you are disrespecting your ancestors.

If it has nothing to with your ancestry, then I don't know.

Yeah, the poor silly bugger hadn't seen all the negative crap on the media (and KB) and though joining the Police was a good move..Sucker!

Dont get your point, uniforms are always changing?

Isn't it against a scouser's beliefs to be in the police at all??

Unless you're setting villians to catch villians, obviously..

Good on the officer concerned. Another "sector" of society represented on the thin blue line.

And if a London Beefeater enters the NZ Police Force, surely he can wear a big black fluffy hat?

I thought he looked like a very proud guy, one who will be an asset to the community he serves. He is obviously big enough to rise above the racist bigotry that some people can serve up.

I went to school with members of a few Sikh families, they played rugby cricket and all the other traditional sports just like all us other kids!

They all grew up as New Zealanders just like we did, so if one wants to wear his turban as part of his Police uniform and they say its OK then it suits me.

We need more Police don't we?

It's the "Man" in the uniform that counts, not the bloody uniform on the man. :Police:

Our Police get the least support of any section in New Zealand society and we get back better than what we what we give.(IMHO)

I wish knockers on here would focus more on the lousy bloody Justice system, rather than the Police! :shifty:

I could go on forever but.........................John

I think you have missed the point. The two are in fact quite different; Sikh's wear their headgear for everyday use irrespective of where they are. You might be surprised to find that the average Bantu does not spend his day wandering around naked carrying a spear. Most of them have actually made it to the 21st century, hell, some of them even wear suits!

Can't see a worry. Good on him. Looks quite smart too. More protection than the regular hat. Dunno how he's go in STG/AOS though.

I don't care what ethnicity the police is made up of. If they meet the standard then they're as good as any bloke.

Can't believe they have women in there though......jeez I mean women acting all girlie.......I'm just kidding ladies you're all good too.

Didn't realize the Beefeaters were a religion

They are more of 'Static Cult' Status, standing still is really an art, they do it religously.

Beefeaters are nothing at all to do with meat then. Oh no then they would be cannibals!! No I wouldnt want cannibals in our police force. Well not without mouth guards at least...

Scouse raises a legitimate issue.

So a Muslim woman want to join the force. Should she still be allowed to wear the veil while on duty??

I would like to think if I was ever to join the NZ Police Force that I would be allowed to wear my grass skirt ... or failing that my leprechaun outfit!!!!! Although not sure about the practicality of either .. could be a go though!

Damn straight. They've been serving in armed and police forces for longer than most european cultures have existed, and almost without exception their service has been second to none.

Best of luck to the guy, he's got my respect.

Doesn't concern me at all - if he makes the grade good on him.

I wonder if I'd be allowed to wear a kilt though? :msn-wink:

After a bit of deep thought...

It is a commonly known fact that policemen used to keep their sandwiches underneath their helmet.

How is this member of police going to keep his sandwiches under his turban?

If eating beef makes you a cannibal i'm pretty sure you'd have to be a cow..

They're accepting cattle in the police force?!

What has New Zealand come to.. :shit:

Can't really se ethe problem (though there's no actual religious reason why he needs to wear a turban specifically). And if there Sikhs in the force , the crims had better watch out. Those guys don't back down from ANYTHING.
