Hi, I have a '92 ZXR750, which I want to fit a set of '06 ZX636 forks and triple tree to. The ZX636 triple tree is a sexy bit of kit compared to the old ZXR one, so I would like to know who could remove the original stem and machine a new, slightly shorter one.

The ZX636 stem uses the same bearing sizes as the ZXR, but the distance between the bearings is approx 10mm more.

Swapping stems is not an option as the ZX636 top yoke has a larger stem hole, and the offset is different.

Cheers.
