Note: I just take other peoples ideas and ride with them.
Discussed today was the idea of a Manawatu Forum 'Post ride Thread' as opposed to weekend or Thurs/fri ride threads. Moderator can edit.
A Fantastic day out going over Pahiatua Track, Mangamarie, that other fast bit (peddling) and coming back through Pahiatua and Ballance. Posh bikies - Lattes and pies. Thanks again. Them girls ride good.:girlfight:

Some egg head just started the same thread as you for post ride threads. Oops that was me - sorry. It was a great ride. I was wondering how well a cop could do a u -turn in the gorge. Would be funny to watch. Those old bike surprised me today at how well they ran and kept pace (I don't mean the one with the sellotape).

Bumped into Noel Jones today pushing his bike towards Fielding from Cheltnam, seems he forgot to check the oil and it was a little dry
We managed to load it onto a truck that had stopped to help him and follwed him back to town to help unload it.

now I am really confused.
So far, according to the poll, 71% of people think that the rides should be posted in meetings and events and MRF is to be used for shit talking. It follows that ride reports be posted in the ride reports subforum in meetings and events forum. Now we have another thread to organise rides or is this to do ride reports in?

the weekend rides thread posted in M & E .. every wed the posts can be moved to the post ride thread ready for the next weekend .. that way it does not get clogged up & those who are not members of the forum but want to join in can prior & after the ride ..
Since I tidy up the rides thread now .. just make it a wed nite job

Damn fine day today, awesome ride. Just what I needed.
Nice cafe must go there again.
Sarge and I left the cafe and headed thru the gorge (neither of us got caught)
then headed out thru Ashhurst thru Bunnythorpe, then across country to Rongotea.
Saw the first stages of a motorbike simulator being built for Manawatu Museum.
Do I tell them Sarge about what sort and colour or should I let them wait until November when it is released??? :bleh:
Then home for a quick coffee and then off to indoor netball for me. Am now totally shattered.
Great day all, great to see new faces.

Rode north from Manukau today.
Daytona, R6, BMW Boxer, F800S
All that bloody motorway north to Albany then all that goddam traffic slowing us down all the time on the 'B' roads.
Then the roadworks and 80km roads, the lack of choices of direction or deviations around the traffic.
Haven't ridden north for bloody ages................not surprising really; it sucks.
When I got back I had to go for a good thrash out Hunua way to blow out the cobwebs
Maybe I'll do it again in another 2 or 3 years or whenever I forget what crap it is to ride north of Auckland for just a day ride.

I live in Manukau and the awesome roads start within a couple of minutes of home spreading out across the Waikato to both coast.
Waikato, BOP, Coromandel, King Country: all just parts of the day ride locations available.
In contrast to north of Auckland we have massive choice, bugger all cars and a selection of surfaces, corners and cafes to be drooled at.

Turned out to be quite a bit longer than I had planned for. I could blame the late arriving latte sipping smoke roller that arrived 3 minutes before 1pm. But then if that delay hadn't occured then we would have missed Sly and Melissa. I suppose the 4 wrong turns I made ate up a bit of time too ;(

I went on the CDMTC ride to castlepoint today. Wish I'd gone with you guys instead.
My impressions - poorly organised, for a club. Lost 2 bikes at pahiatua because instructions weren't clear, wasted 1/2 hour looking and waiting, group split (bad directions) back of mauriceville and most regrouped at Masterton. Amazing 'Gale' force winds at castlepoint on ridge, found 2 lost riders.
Coming out of castlepoint just over bridge (on bend) a huge gust of wind pushed the Kat onto the verge and it got nicely parked in bank between two pines. (Rider and bike a bit bruised). Some plastic repairs needed and possible realigning of forks.
Nice caring group of riders though.

Coming out of castlepoint just over bridge (on bend) a huge gust of wind pushed the Kat onto the verge and it got nicely parked in bank between two pines. (Rider and bike a bit bruised). Some plastic repairs needed and possible realigning of forks.
Dagnabbit! Nasty - don't try that too often. Glad you're alright and obviously got home ok. Hope the bike's sorted asap.

Castlepoint road is mint. The conditions were a bit crap but that's the luck of the draw.

Experience builds, I don't think Katana's like strong side winds. Duct tape comes in black. (Parts approx $700US)

Rightio! Went for a bit of a scoot to manfield last Sunday. Went over the saddle road and had a bit of fun, then a no nonsense straight through spin to the track. Chatted away the day to loads of old acquaintances. Right at the end, Meanie, 86 and NZSarge showed up. Lance, Meanie and Chanceyy scooted for home, Sarge went off to watch motogp which left 86 and I to go for a pootle.
I followed 86 to Ashhurst, then I led over the saddle road. My rear tyre started spinning out of right hand turns, a bit of a worry when I only have 75 to 80 hp at most. We stopped on a corner with a view of the eastern side and the tyre looked a bit sad, depressed even! I took up 86 kind offer of a ride on his Tiger and thoroughly enjoyed my ride down to Woodville on it...very comfy and I was really suprised how fast it whipped through the revs being a triple and all! Over all...very impressive!
Anyways, back to earth with a thump and off home I went on the 750. Coming a long my road the tyre was giving really, REALLY bizarre feed back, even though I was in limp mode. It felt as if it were flat (it wasn't) and the tyre was rolling over the edge of the rim!!! I've never felt anything quite like it. Anyways, I've been busy running the groover over 2 sets of tyres and now have a tough decision to make, hmmm Dunlops or Pirellis???? :shifty:

I managed 492 km so far this weekend beginning on the Friday ride. Accompanied Sarah to Wellie at 7.00 am yesterday morning! Wet and VERY gusty. The Tiger is soooo bloody comfortable though, nothings a problem. Breakfast with Mum, then a quick scoot around town (god, it's a day trip to even get round the bays these days in Wellie, bloody traffic) then Hutt motorway, Haywards, and Piecock Hill. EXTREMELY windy up there but at least I was blown away from the precipice and not over it lol.
Got to Shannon for a quick stop and notice a message from Garry that there's a trip to the Umutoi MC headquarters to check on the battered occupants.
Had a nice run out there (god that road is BRILLIANT) confirmed there were no deaths and that the mightly Daytona will rise again
Followed up with a very relaxed leisuerly cruise back to Ashhurst then home
No riding today though, man, is it wet or what!

yeah echo that windy ride to welly yesterday.. left about 5.30pm and not a bad run down really .. a few cross winds did not seem to worry BB .. over Haywards was fun just on dark with a foggy visor but all good .. stayed nice & dry though so bonus ...
BB is about to get her bling put on, so no more oiling chain & hopefully I might have a fairly dry run home later today .. rain has eased off in welly wood
