Hey Everyone
I'm planning a ride this weekend to test the new bike out. I have put a route together on google maps but I would like possible suggestions on route changes and places to stop for cool things to do or take pictures of.

That's a stunning run with plenty to see and do so take your time and enjoy it - don't try and pack too much in as it will all still be there for your next trip!
Have you grabbed a copy of the NZ Motorcycle Atlas? http://www.aucklandmapcentre.co.nz/default,324,new_zealand_motorcycle_atlas.sm.
It's THE essential book with heaps of routes and things to see and do. You can probably get it in Chch at Whitcoulls or any other good bookshop.

Good ride mate... But dont forget to stop over at Hamner Springs for a warm up and relax on the way home would be the best. I have done that route a few times when I lived down south.

It's a bmw, the only thing you need to test is the seat.

... Would recommend setting off at a reasonable time, stopping at petrol stations will be a good idea and does your camera have a flash?

Thats quite a change from my proposed route haha! However I will keep it on hand for when I have a long weekend and its warm enough to camp. I did work out a route that went around the entire rim and it was 2500km! Ill certinaly do that one day too.
Yes my camera does have a flash? why do I need one?

From Greymouth I'd ride the Coast Road up to Westport and then cut inland to Reefton.The Coast Road is magic and yo would have to stop at the Pancake Rocks for a photoshoot.Probably and i hour to your trip.

I'd hang a right at Jacksons and go via Moana and Lake Brunner...
