Maha and Mom are coming down on Friday overnight and so we thought we better show some hospitality and have a BBQ and drinks Friday night.

Timing is a bit up in the air at the moment but the general plan will go something like this.

Sometime on Friday afternoon Maha will text me.
I will fire some texts around (show intent if you want to recieve one) and we will head out to escort them to Ashhurst.

Introductions and then will have a BBQ and Drinks at Meanies place.

BYO meat for BBQ and Drinks.

Nametags optional.

Nah mate, nuthin' to rub in there, those CB13's are nice bikes, I particularly like the semi-faired one though.
Sorta bol'd'or but modern in a retro way.
I almost like em as much as XJR13's. Modern classic's along with the GSX14 and ZXR12.

yod
16th September 2008, 10:44
yep i remember you checking out the one over in masterton...you looked reasonably keen

Mom

yep i remember you checking out the one over in masterton...you looked reasonably keen

We test rode the semi faired version before Maha bought the naked. I hated it! Really, got off the thing and was not very complimentary at all. It was a bit older to be fair, but YUK! Pillion configuration was crap (compared to the trumpy) and I felt like I was about to launch off the back anytime!

The retro colours look great! Retro, makes me laugh, I am retro if it comes to that, these were the colours of my youth  But the bike we rode did not ring any bells for me for sure, even allowing for the little compartments for lippy and hairspray in the bikini fairing :dodge:

Maha took one look at the naked here at our local shop and it was obviously game over for him. I decided to man up and just get over it! So pleased I did! I was so spoiled on the Triumph for pillion configuration, it was the BEST I have ever experienced. The CB is great.

My biggest problem now is the height of the pillion peg. I am vertically challenged and that step up to the peg can be challenging, especially on a heavily cambered road. Maha is very good at finding a bit more level place for me to mount :o gosh that could be considered rude in the right company...LOL. I have had to take the knee armour out of my pants so my knees can bend in comfort (I hate that bit) but otherwise it is a fantasic bike.

LOL! Legendary.

Speaking of elite riding, apparently a local spotted a group of motorbikes pootling over the saddle rd this morning. Said local mentioned that they saw the lead change as the front bikes got down towards woodlands road, where one bike was apparently concerned with the state of their front tyre and took action to spare it some wear for a short period.....

Don't know about big flightless birds, but thanks for looking after our Northern Brethren.
Safely ensconced at ours after a wee tour of the Bay.
