Easy Start, Crap Finish shifts

To all the Police and other RN's out there, I suppose this is a "welcome to ya world" PM. Prob why Nurses understand Police well. No going in ta the shit shift, but the Bourbon is so good right now. No biggy. A lot of ya get worse shifts (hat's off ta ya). But just just wondering do ya get the "easy start crap finish shifts" too? With Nursing Orthopaedic there seems the un-written rule that if the start of ya shift is too easy that by the end of the shift it is all going ta go ta the dogs. Have got so used to this that I now brace myself if things are going too easy at the start of a shift, I am bracing myself for the shit that I know is going ta come at the end of the shift. Yet again today my fears have been proven right. Way too easy at the start with a totally crap finish. Need a Tardus for work. Glad tomorrow is off.
Anyone else get this phenomena in their work?

You sorta prepare yourself for a shit day all day and it always comes. Without fail.

I get in my first day of every shift.
My coworker is a pig and a slob. So I start my first day cleaning up.:angry2:
Pisses me off for the rest of the shift.

Yer well as silly ast seems, I'd prefer my crap up front. If the shift starts of bad, it seems ta get better at the end. Even if it doesn't, others that ya working with are more supportive. If ya have a easy start, the others ya working with almost enjoy see ya sift go down at the end. With Shit Start shifts I wind down better at the end then I do with Shit Fin shifts. Takes longer ta unwind when I get home. OK I'm on my 3rd triple bouron now in a 400ml handle, LOL

The fun side of contract IT is that every day is different. Sometimes you wake up and WW3 has broken out, servers out, internet connections etc, spend the whole day sorting things out then carry on into the evening.

On quiet days, you sit there believing its the calm before the storm, until the end of the business day. Then you believe the next day will be when it hits...

Work as an Ambo. If quiet start you know its going to hit the fan by the end of the day/night. Then again most days just don't stop.

Don't know about the "Real" money bit. As a Reg Nurse, I get between $1000-1200 (after Tax, Student Loan Repayments and Kiwi Saver) working 8 rotating shifts per fortnight, which are worked dam hard for (no time for txting, surfing the net or sitting on ya arse). Yet I am happy with my lot. Better income than I had. But I do wonder about what people really value when ya look at the silly amounts of money some people get for doing stuff that doesn't better the Country or make it safe ta live in.

Feel for ya dude,
I used to do 7.00am-6.00pm but was on 24hr call out 365 days a year. Shit hours, nearly bowled me out and no mistake. Couldnt have a beer, a shit or a root in case the phone rang. Gave it away after being called out twice on Christmas Day.
Got myself a 9 - 5 now. I'm an L PLate cowboy so the more time on the bike the better.
