Since the cage is in the workshop (has been for a week now) I have HAD to ride the bike every day cause it's my only form of transport just now......(how sad......:whistle:)
Last two days it has been pissisting down here so have had to use the rain gear....Lesson One: Stick ya gloves INSIDE ya sleeves if you don't want them full of water (I knew that!!)......which brings me to the problem.
The waterproof rain jacket goes over the leather, and has elasticised sleeves. The gloves have drawstrings to close them up around the wrist. Getting the first one on is easy cause you have a glovefree hand - pull on glove, roll elasticised bit over top. Then comes the second one.....errrrrrrm the free hand now has a big fat leather glove on it and my fingers are now like sausages..:slap:..I can get the glove on but rolling the elastic bit over it is not as easy...need to take first glove back off to get second glove on..:angry:..ahhhhh shit fat lot of good that does! So I muck about with the fat gloved fingers for half an hour, cursing and swearing as the elastic resists all efforts to move it over glove.....almost need someone to do it for me but there is only the cat at home and she just WON'T co-operate on this one....(cow)......teeth don't work either......blowing stack didn't help....:brick:...swearing aloud was of no avail....ended up kind of bludgeoning the elastic bit over the glove end and got it sort of waterproof....how much easier if I had a third hand!!! (but then I'd have to glove that one too.......ngngngng verily, 'tis a mindfucker.....)

Stick your gloved hand in a plastic bag then push your arm down the sleve, when plastic bag shows, pull it off and you'll be left with glove on hand in sleve. Bingo.

Of course, now you won't be able to do your jacket up, or get the key out your pocket because you've got two gloved hands :blink: . Look I'm not a miracle worker! :laugh:

put you leathers and gloves on first, then put you rainsuit on over the top, when you push you hands through the sleeves the elastic bit will be on the outside of your gloves.

put and old key ring or similar on the zip, makes it easier to grab with banana fingers.

OK - just tested it out and the zip is easier with fat fingers than the elastic...so that solves the problem...or eases it anyway...now why didn't I think of that???

Pulling the zipper closed is easy nodrog - but I have to clip the two sides together first....that, however is still easier than the elastic sleeves......:yes:

If you have the zipper already plugged together and zipped part way - the you can put the jacket on like a sweatshirt - over your head.

If you get into a habit of never fully undoing the zip and removing it like a sweatshirt then you will never suffer this problem again :)

in all seriousness though i comuit every day on the ole gurl and i found a pair of ixon winter glover blody awsme they say waterproof and are all winter not a wet hand yet.
and yes i tuck sleve inside glove and do the valcro strap up no wories m8

I commute every day on the old magic carpet wearing dryrider jacket and overtrousers (when necessary) or shift jeans and normal leather motorcycle gloves and boots.

Geting wet hands isnt a biggie, gloves dry out while your at work or over night. Personally I cant stand the bulk of winter gloves so have heated grips instead (about the same price).

If a long hall trip in the wet is on the cards overmits are the go, the ones with fingers are best (if you know what I mean).

Alternatively you could train your cat to get you dressed :niceone:
