I've got about 1mm left on the front pads and need some recommendations on where to get some?

Theres a guy on trade me, $35 plus $3 for shipping.

I'm gonna head down to the only motorbike shop in town and see what they have to offer.

Bikes done about 16000km so they're most probably the originals.

What price should I expect or is $35 it?

Just remember the fact of you get what you pay for. For example, Supercheap auto stock $10 brake pads for cars. However repco stock $80 brake pads. Do the math.

My brake pads were $50 for the CBR (and I required three sets, yowch). I would ring/email 'econohonda' and ask them for a price if I were you.

I doubt Farm and Trail will have any to suit a GN, but its worth a try. If they dont just go to MotoGB ( or any other motorcycle shop at the Mount / Tauranga ) and be done with, they will sell you decent ones. MotoGB will definately have them considering they are the Suzuki dealer. For the cost and their life time, it really isn't that much. And at the end of the day a GN250 isn't a high performance bike so standard pads will do absolutely fine.

Why would you go to all the way to Te Aroha to a Honda shop to get Suzuki brake pads?

Well, you can ring them up and they'll courier it to you, but they can't courier what they don't have <_<

$35 doesn't sound too bad, go with that!

Thanks guys.
What brands are suggested?

Trade me has 'Ferodo'.
Guy at Farm and Trail rekons about $44 but have to order in, no offence to anyone but I don't like dealing with them, they give you a 'Give me the money and fuck of' feeling.

I will ring MotoGB soon, I'm heading to the mount anyway.

Brands, Brands, Brands.........

Just go to MotoGB and get whatever they recommend. You cant go wrong with brake pads on a GN if you get them from a Suzuki dealer, its not like you are going to be braking it into a corner trying to scrub off 250kmh any time soon =P

For sure, if you want. Just make sure if you get any dirt or anything on the disc that you clean it afterwards with grease remover or something because crap on discs can cause them to warp when they heat up.

When the old pads are out , pump the piston out a bit till you see clean chrome then brake clean all the dust and crap off the piston , plastic strapping works well as a cleaning implement , do not use emery tape it will scratch the piston .
Then push the piston in , inert new pads then check you still have an air gap in your master cylinder , this is important as brake fluid expands as it heats up and if there is no room for air up top there's only one place for it to go .

bro i know this guy in Duneden he can hook you up with some mean compound brake pads for cheap!! Your gn will have about a 3m stopping distance from 200kph they will turn ur gn into a racing weapon!!! all you have to do is drive down to pick them up!!
