Statement of Compliance

I bought a used 2004 Chongqing CY200GY-2 On / Off Road Motorbike off trademe.

I need a statement of compliance to get it road legal, does anyone know where I can get one ?

Don't worry about getting it roadworthy. It will be fu*ked before you get through the paperwork process.

In order to get a compliance cert you need to contact the origonal importer. IF the bike make/model is compliant and their processes are compliant they will be able to issue a MR2A on the spot for you.--ohh that is of course IF THEY imported the bike with that chasis number.
Of course if its one of those "container importers" that bought it in then you be ferked
If the bike HAS been registered in NZ you don't need one just the rego details etc.

MY advice to ANYBODY in this situation. Either take the bike for what it is --a cheap trail bike. OR insist as a condition of sale that the bike is supplied with a valid MR2a

A MR2a is a A4 sized bit of blue paper that is issued by the LTSA and is the right to go into a Rego center and rego a bike

You would have to ask why the seller didn't supply you with a statement of compliance or an MR2A. Why? Because the bike would have been worth a lot more with those things.

My guess is you didn't get one with the bike for a reason - because it doesn't, and will never comply.

Enjoy it for what it is - a cheap off road bike that may go forever (fingers crossed).

I only bought it as a cheap trail bike so at the time I wasn't to concerned about getting it road legal. Then after I spent some more time riding it and looking over it I thought it would be nice to take on the road to get to more trails. It's fully equiped with functioning lights and signals ect... It also looks pretty flash and has good performance for a 4 year old chinese bike that I only paid $700 for.

It seems that I will probably not be able to get it road legal, so I'll be sticking to the trails.
