I am after a complete airbox, just the airbox lid and possibly throttle bodies from a Gen 1 Tuono, or Mille up to '05.

Anything considered.

Cheers

Tried this geezer? toastedsandwich (http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=176484700) He has a pile of bits from a broken Tuono.

I bought the bike with bored out 51's (up to about 56mm), aftermarket velocity stacks and the Evo airbox mod.

It goes like snot, but is difficult to tune and lumpy at low RPM.

I am quite keen to put it back to standard to gain the low end back, even if I lose a bit on the top end. I spend more time on the road than on the track.

I might even flog the Evo airbox kit if anyone is interested.......

That's real interesting Sparkz. I love the midrange punch and instant throttle response I get with full 2-2 exhaust, dyna filter and power commander. I've contemplated an airbox mod and even had a renegade kit. I eventually bartered it on to a mate. Figured I didn't need the tuning grief and I wasn't confident about it's ability to keep the crud out of my cylinders. He didn't care about either.

Yeah, I am not convinced the EVO mod seals very well either. Not a very good solution.

I am running with 56mm throttle bodies, Micron big bore link pipe and muffler, FP chip, EVO air box and a PC3. Runs very well at the upper end, but has a midrange hole and crap performance just off idle.

The twin Akras are the way to go, but DAMN they are expensive!!!

I am keen to try the header link pipe mod as it seems to fill the midrange in a bit on single muffler setups.

Good luck with it mate. I have a Renegade exhaust. A bit loud but I like it. Any joy with the toastedsandwich geezer?

Cheers!

No mate, he hasn't got what I am after.

Just a long shot but have you tried these guys? Might cost a little more being overseas etc...

Haven't heard many that have had great results with the open top air box mods , mainly as you would need to do head work to get enough flow through the motor since you are draging in more air than the standard valves etc can move . Best get a 99 intake & normal airbox & tune the airbleeds & Trim pots correctly which is pretty easy to do to make the FP eprom work as it should because they give huge midrange drive once sorted like mine is & are running the Zero map in the PCIII as it fuels sweet from idle to redline . Oh yea are making the collector mod with the spare system I have so will post up results once I finish welding it up

Thanks Barbender. It may be an option. Bit pricey in Pounds though...

Hey Sensei, let me know if the header mod is worthwhile.
