Hey guys, just wondering if anybody here know of some work, or perhaps owns a business that needs somebody at open up or close up time as an extra hand

I work fulltime night shift on Carbine road. I use a bicycle due to currently being disqualified, no fork hoist license as yet either but my fulltime employer is hopefully going to put me through it.

I start 1030pm and finish 7am, and well when i am not sleeping i do nothing productive so may as well earn some extra bucks right?

so what i am after is something from

7.30-8am until 10-11am

or 6pm until 10pm

it can't really be retail as i get all sweaty and smelly at my main job as it is all physical labour, but hopefully somebody has something in industrial mt wellington ish, i am on the job sites but hey why not throw up something hewre to see what lurks aye!

Cheers: Mark.

PS. Doesn't have to match the $16ph of my current job, but close would be good!:niceone:

I'm sure even WINZ can't even organise a truck licence for a disqualified driver.

And now, the pool of employers is getting just that much smaller with a disqualification on record....

Yeah it makes it damn hard to get a job i tell ya! :(

I have reasons for leaving the other job i am not going into full details.

But night shift was really not working. body couldnt adjust.

and sexual harrassment came into it - not going into it.

I believe that was Mr. Glen Quagmire from Family Guy.

<img src="http://deansguide.files.wordpress.com/2007/07/quagmire.jpg">

Some years ago I saw some ferocious looking old woman pick up a young guy and take him to a carpark at the Auckland Domain. I hope he liked them grizzly 'cause it looked God awful from my point of view.

Firstly, contact your local WINZ. When I arrived here, they teed me up a job working in a restaurant. It sucked, but it paid the rent and I got free food.

Then tidy up your CV, and go door-to-door around where you live trying to find work and handing them out, or collecting contact details of people you can email a CV to.

Then look at what you'd like to do (eg: working on bikes) and find places you could do that, figure out if it's realistic to get a job there (location, cost to travel etc), and start applying.

For very ten jobs you apply for you will get one call back.

For every five interviews, you will get one job offer worth taking.

Those stats were told to me by a recruitment agency, and they seem to be a good conservative estimate. Usually I get jobs by word of mouth now so I don't apply often or have many interviews.

Good luck though.

actually i find this very true....

skid... if you want to ask for jobs on here, best thing is to keep them for at LEAST 6mths to a year... bad rep in these matters usually ends up in no one wanting to give you a job...
