View Full Version : Tony and Kylie's wedding

I would like to say how much I enjoyed being able to share in you guy's wedding today as part of the kb family. It probably sounds a bit gay, but it was great to finally meet some of the people I've only interacted online with. I have never done a large group ride before so wasn't quite sure what to expect; but those who organised the ride part did a fantastic job and surely MDU and co will be into well-deserved rounds of drinks by now.
Congratulations to the happy couple and we'll wait to see the photos/vids that get posted. (Will load mine tonight on the computer and see if any are worthy of posting).
Cheers,
Dawn

Here are some photos from my camera. The "Event's" photo is not good compare to what Zapfs got, however it was least I could do for you Frosty and Jorja. Once again, congratulations!

I've also got some photos from the "ride"

...bunch of redlight runners :oi-grr:

First I thought those two Busas and some bikes were a bunch of hoons but later I realised that they were controlling the traffic :sweatdrop Sorry for the misunderstanding!

AAAAAAAHHHHH

I thought it was tomorrow! I was being towed past the falls hotel (or however it is spelt) and saw you guy all there. And yes, I was TOWED, got a flattie on scenic drive, waahz :weep:

Grats to the bride and the groom, I hope it was a wonderful day! EXCELLENT weather, just PERFECT!

Hey Dawn,

Great to see you out and about and meeting some of the crazies in person. Trust me - it was a team effort, I can personally name 4 other KBers that did a truckload, and I've not doubt they were leaning on others in turn.

And the ride, ceremony etc. Very very cool. Great to see some of the recluses come out of the woodwork, the bikes kidly volunteered at short notice and the crowd cameras.

There has to be a photo in that lot for the calendar, and there has to be a few worthy of caption contests...

Last - and certainly not least. Tony and Kylie... thanks guys. :niceone:

What a kick-ass day.

Hanging out with lots of nifty folks, watching two more nifty folks do something nifty, enjoying a nifty bit of riding...

You get the idea!

Met a couple of new faces, re-acquainted with a few I haven't seen for a while.

Awesome Tony and Kylie, congrats and many thanks for the opportunity to take part.

Started off with a 50c ice cream at McD's and finished off with an amazing wedding, with the bride walking inbetween 58 (?) bikes. Awesome!

Congratulations Tony and Kylie, I only really know Frosty through PMs and talking about the ER6 but It was great to be a part of it and meet many new people!

I took some in helmet vid which I am rendering now, I threw it together fairly fast and it is basically just the ride with most parts sped up, if it is watchable I'll throw it up here, I figured since I had the helmet and the camera I may as well throw it in (funnily enough I didn't get any strange looks, none that I saw anyway!)

All in all an awesome day! Great weather for a wedding :)

Maccas and Shell did a roaring trade.

Waved to lots of kids, hopefully got a few future bikers there.

Tony and Kylie, congratulations.

MDU et al, thanks for the hard work and traffic blocking. Stellar work.

Oh yeah, those road blockers were amazing! Kudos to them, was actually quite receptive having some nice bikes pass forward for more road blockaging, made for a great cruise (not to mention riding behind QKKID on his kwaka for a good distance, that is one hot bike.)!

Nice to watch the procession of bikes turn up.

Poor old Tony had to stand and wait until Kylie turned up so he didn't get to see any of them.

You fellas did great. Nice to meet a bunch of you all and to those I didn't get to talk to - sorry, we'll do it next time.

Ahh what a great day, I was riding ... and I felt like I wanted to keep riding :innocent: Congrats to the newly minted couple , thanks for the invite and allowing filthy biker scum to be present :msn-wink:

The ceremony was short and sweet and the metaphorical allegory of marriage and biking led to some pretty interesting convo afterwards! :o :sweatdrop

Was good to catch up with some peeps and see some new faces to put nicks to!

I even got to go on a mini-ride and back again as a flying pathfinder

So once again, from the Southside krew, big ups, mad props chur chur bro and broess! :headbang:

Twas about the best ride I've had since the last great ride. And blocking the traffic was a hoot! I stopped the West-bound lane at the Edmonton Rd lights. Among the 'Stopped' was an ambulance. He blipped his siren a couple of times then I saw him pull out the microphone to tell me to piss off when, suddenly, the tide of KBer's started through. That shut him up.:--)) And the woman driver of the front car started clapping in delight at the sight.:

Didn't Kylie look a picture? Did you notice the set-in-concrete grin of Frosty's face. The last time I saw him look that freaked out was when I asked him for a discount on my bike.:buggerd:

For the record:

1) Ambulances don't have PA capability, so he wasn't going to say anything we could hear.

2) (With the exception of a couple of vehicles) you can't operate the sirens without the lights being on, and if the lights had been on, he wouldn't have stopped quite so politely...

3) The driver wishes the couple well...

zeocen... awesome video mate. I just relived a lot of the ride in about 15 mins - a good smile the start the day,.

Huge ups to the blockers, The Stranger (help and advice on the day was probably worth more than you realise) and everyone that made the ride.

Sorry I bailed on the BBQ, had to catch up witha friend and a few things changed meaning I had to head straight home.

No worries, I read that Frosty said he would have liked someone to video it, so I thought I'd throw the camera in my face for the rides.. also quite suprised no one laughed at me for looking so ridiculous as I do when I video rides. Yay for KB friendliness !

The only thing that made me seasick was all the head-checks you were doing... and I'm hardly going to laugh at you for doing head-checks!

Yeah I'm afraid I do many head checks and mirror checks (even with mirror extenders I get a lot of 'elbow' in my mirrors) :(

Yep that was gijoe looking all contemplative on the right and the camera shy 'Electric Mango' colour coordinated bloke was Sprag, behind him was PrincesBandit and a few others.
