Hey everyone!

we all got back safe! (I hope) :done:

Was an awesome day and a fantastic ride! The scenery was just stunning and so much fun to ride around.

There were 8 of us at one point in a convoy but 6 for the most part.

I ended up going the long way around via westport while the others cut through to reefton. However I managed to catch up with them 40km outside of christchurch as they stopped to fix an electrical issue with a bike. Was nice to rejoin them and finish the ride together.

I managed to slowly drop the K bike at the garage as i got off a bit too quickly hahaha! but luckily the engine bars took it all and I picked her up easily...lucky I do deadlifts haha. There was no photographic evidence of the inccident thank goodness.

I have a few photos but I will have to sort out a mount for the bike so I can do some snaps while riding.

Hopefully someone that is a better storyteller than myself will write a bit about today :ride:

Good to hear you all had a good trip around the block.

I did think about joining you but had other things I had to do.

Like rotary hoeing the whole back yard and leveling it out again, to try and turn it back in to lawn, instead of a moonscape. (thanks pups)

All done so tomorrow I get to :scooter::yes:

Funniest part was having the 3 staff at Jackson all attentive to our needs, rolling out food and drinkks in short order, plenty of pies and choice - amazing good service for a bunch of casual morning visitors, and then to hear one of them say "this isn't the Ulysses group! They must be coming soon" You have to understand that Andy was on 4th or 5th pie at this stage. As we were milling around a bit later waiting to go, the Ulysses guys rolled up to our happy greetings of "there's no food - race you to the next pub :-)"

Kumara cop was out, but we were all slowing down for gas at that point - all good.

Yeah We tried to call u on the trip back from gas delivery as we saw kumara cop moving in your direction but no signal! Luckily everyone was moving at a sensible pace.

Only saw 1 constable briefly on the shanandoah on the way home. He didn't seem to worried by my 110 cruising speed, Buller gorge was stunning as always, good to see a couple of new faces too. Could have done without the flat tyre though.
Must do it again soon, maybe next time I'll carry on through to Christchurch, have a look at this lees vly place

i saw about 7 police cars! none of them in positions to give anyone speeding tickets, they were sat in funny places where no one remotely sane would speed.
