Well after six months after my spill, the bike is back on the road. It has been a long and expensive task, but I am really happy with the results.

A summary of the task...

Front wheel
Front tyre
Front disk calipers
Front discs
Front brake lines
Front shocks
Oil cooler hoses
Front manifold exhaust pipes
Brake lever
Clutch lever
Instrument panel
Front L and R indicators
rear L and R indicators
Pegs
Chain and sprockets
Rear brake pads
All fairings

I also managed to put a crack in every panel so I took the opportunity to go for a total colour change. Willem at Reflections took the most sorry pieces of plastic and did some magic. There were fairings that were had pieces missing and that were broken in two or more pieces. Looking at the bike today, you would be hard pressed to find the welds.
Wayne at Bike busters had all the parts I needed and again was really helpful.

A few small things left to do like bar ends and clutch and oil covers, but that will be a few paychecks away.

Pics will be up soon (my camera was stolen in the burglary) and I would like to say thanks to all who know me for their patience and constant whinging about not having a bike.

Wow what a mission. Interested to hear how much your paint was as I've got some scrapes I'd like to clean up one day.

All those parts must have cost almost as much as a new bike huh?

Took the bike out on a ride with twig today. Started off in Ponsonby (where I took pics of the bike), up to Titirangi for a coffee and bagel, along Scenic Drive (through the clouds made the road a little damp and scary) Waitakere Rd to Kumeu, up to Helensville and on to SH16 (Twig had never been on SH16 and was soooo buzzed he could not smiling!)Wellsford to Puhoi for a quick beer and home.
Such a fantastic ride.

Anyway, I have finally taken some pics of the finished bike...:ride:

Sounds like a nice ride, next time head to Raetihi for a Clown's pie! They were closed today though, so it's just as well you went to Titirangi instead.

Well done on getting the bike back.

Hey Lucy, Sam and I were talking about doing a weekend trip to your place and staying the night sometime over summer...
We will need a lot of pies and beers to replenish ourselves after the looooong ride...
