OH damn you cheese there's a ride near Hastings???
I was just going to post on how I'd be in Hawkes bay this Sunday and couldn't join you guys on the WMCC ride if you went out to Woodhill this weekend. I'm still sore after trying to keep up with Rupe and 4 stroke at the sandpit all day yesterday anyway! LOL!
Now how to sneak the bike in with the bags???:nono: Do you think she will notice!!:Oi: We just have to ride every weekend don't we???

tie down wheels so they dont move and then get fully geared up climb on bike and bounce up and down for 2-3 hrs uses less gas wears you out just as much you wont get sand through everything.

yeah sort of, feels a bit odd at the mo, need to change the bars around and might have to get some risers for it too. i havent had a good ride on it yet, but a few tweaks and she'll be mint, its still got plenty of punch itll pull the front up with no hesitation. ull have to twist my arm a fair bit then kick me off mid flight to get a go :girlfight:

Did this on last year can't remember date but it absolutely poured down and we all got soaking wet. Brilliant ride though bit of mud, pumice sandy stuff and large bogs i recall.

Yeah the ThunderX MX track! NOT! There is a 1st-2nd gear table top next to the car park and then a berm and then some slush and then a demented table top with a lumpy landing!
We found some big 3rd gear step downs to the side of the B loop about 500meters before the point where the A loop forest track joins the B loop. Had a bit of fun there for an hour on Saturday.
Harrisville practice on Saturday arvo and
Ken Fells racing on Sunday.
Anyone going?

Just trying a few things out so when I get the money together for a newer bike (which will be a long while yet) I have a more formed opinion. I did like the 4 stroke, and the 450, but wouldn't say I'd caught the bug yet. I really want to try a ktm or gg 300, but if I got a ktm I'd have to hang out with the old farts!! Oh, and liked the feel of the husky 2strokes at spectrum.
Tried reckless 200 out at the weekend, and his is geared different to mine. More snap which I liked, but couldn't hold the gear for as long which I didn't like. So something to think about there too.
Anyway how far away is that ride up north?? Could be somewhere different?

Did this one last year. For anyone thinking about going, it really is a top notch ride and well worth the drive up there. Had one of those perfect days where everything slots into place, rode at best pace all day and couldn't put a foot wrong. Unforgetable.
Copy that on the humps and bumps but they sure make for some fun riding. I remember that guy who hit that tree as well. Put a decent big ding in it that should still be there. Great to pop out of the trees and onto the scrub land on the dunes as well. Superb place to be.

Hmmmmmm tempting. I don't really want a really late day out on Sunday. We did thunder last time and I think that the up north one is just too far away. Plus I'm not that rich at the moment...... Going to Oz in 5 weeks!!

You needed to be in third rupe, not second, but you where only on it a short time. It takes a while to learn the little thing will still pull like a 14 year old school boy even when it feels like its going to stall compared to a normal 2smoker. Second for 99% of climbs, even deep sand and third most everywhere else. Its surprising how much torque it has, and it'll still lift the front easily over those roots in third as well, no clutch needed. In fact i very seldom have to clutch it anywhere. Well thats all at my speed??? I'll give you another go next time!

I have a friend who is selling his GG300 right now. Just bought a 2009 KTM300. Let me know if you want his number. Think its an '07 model.

Sweet as mate, then I can see if it's worth playing with the gearing on mine. Oh and you needed to be in 2nd on mine but not be affaid to hold it there.
Danger the bike sounds good, but I don't have the money for a new bike and won't for a while.
