Hows it all going boys, hear you guys have had a bit of rain recently
As some of you know, Just shy of 3 months ago I packed up my life and put my rs250 into storage and moved over to sydney, Loving it here, absolutely loving it here... Since ive been here its rained 3 days in 3 months, Saturday was 33 degrees and today was 31, its only spring !
When me and the missus arrived here we checked into a backpackers in manly and spent 3 days looking for fully furnished flats near my work where I already had a job (building boats)
Well we moved into the best flat we could possibly ask for, Katie and inia are 26 and own the house we share which has 7 living here in total, the Beacon Hill Tavern !!
Me and the missus equipped with our own unit downstairs which opens through to our own bar, eg - bar with pooltable, darts, plasma tv..
You wouldnt believe how big rugby league is in this household, and with 8 games a week as well as the warriors, we get on the piss alot.
Today Katie bought 35 tickets to saturdays warriors game for us and our friends, and 50 tickets for the cricket in Febuary.
Anyway, to the bikes! when we moved in One of our flatmates had a 1993 suzuki gsxf that he had brought to the flat from brisbane, and had owned for four years, sean happens to be a computer geek and had never taken a fairing off let alone disconnected an indicator, but he did happen to crash it a week after I moved in, thats where I step in, and to cut a long story short I splashed out and bought a crash damaged gsxf across for 700 bucks, a few calls around australia and Ive got parts in the post, cost about 1200 all up to get it back to original, did I mention it had a dummy fuel tank which could store a helmet ?
Anyway so now I have this shiny bike, which my missus owned half of, we got to see a fair bit of sydney and she learned to ride ( she rode this more than me) anyway
To cut a long story short, the bike was on queensland plates and to change the ownership over we had real troubles to register it in nsw, so we had 2 months of ownership but had to sell it back to sean, anyways, he decides its time for a new bike, and tomorow he picks up his shiny new gsxr 600, k7
fortunately he is able to do a trade in and get a grand off the price which pays for his new joerocket jacket, casey stoner rep lid, ixion boots and draggin jeans, dont worry about his legs he rides like a pussy. Anyway after a week on the bus I decide its hell fucked and I want a bike, I hear about a zzr 250 going for 600 so this week im repainting it, putting a new chain and solenoid on it and its good to go, it starts with a screwdriver atm.
Hopefully it will be good to go by the weekend, its more for the missus to get to work after we pillion up to my work, i really miss horsepower and will make sure my next bike is at least 750cc. - that will probably be in europe sort of march but thats a while away..
What else to report, mum came and visited - brought all my alpine stars gear, I bought a shiny new red helmet (gunslinger kbc)
And in 10 days me and the gf are picking up our wicked campervan and driving to melbourne for the motogp, CANNOT FUCKING WAIT.. she bought the tickets !! we are staying at a campground at the track.. concerts, illicit substances etc then the coastal route back to sydney.
Anyways, this aint my computer but hopefully ill get one next month.. just dropping a line, still into bikes as much as ever, only have a suitcase and my toolbox to my name... looking forward to heading to spain in march and getting me some proper horsepower to see as much of europe as I can..
You can bet ill be going to alot of gp's over there.. all of them !
Btw, what has mostly made my week is I was browsing through KB yesterday and I found a link to a site called twostrokeshop.com.au
they are a company in cairns who are devoted to my dream bike, and aprilia rs500, they are building everything, bolt in 500cc engines with an engine cradle so there is no frame modification
I wrote a very short email yesterday saying I couldnt find prices and was greeted by a great big long letter today saying that they are new and getting ready for their opening in december, they are currently manufacturing and stock piling the parts , and he specifically said it is going to be relatively inexpensive. this is a dream come true, I am definately buying everything they have... and you can bet my whole bike including tank and subframe will be carbon.. roll on 500cc to my aprilia at home in storage.. loving life
p.s - how good is the newport arms
