Fresh from Radio NZ news this morning - seems that the LEO's are making a concerted effort to monitor for hoons (definitely not me!! :innocent: ) on the "rural back roads" of the Waikato...citing an increasing trend of avoiding main thoroughfares and using the rural alternatives as speed tracks......:devil2:........was a post yesterday re a LEO (complete with speedtrap) on Bankier Road...at the end of a looooong straight piece of road.....so watch it all you flamin' speed freaks....(guess I better avoid my fav straight for a bit.......)

Thanks! I've noticed an increased presence on the Hauraki Plains backroads. Fortunately, the detector picks the HWP miles away on those flat straight roads pinging other vehicles but I certainly wouldn't want to rely on it!

I took the Taupri turnoff / backroads to Cambridge the other day and saw 3 cops - normally none there.
Same day the Waikato Expressway (being one of the newest and safest roads in NZ) was (of course) policed to death with 4 quota whores.
So - I'm riding to Hamihole next week (slowly) and going to rob a few houses - safe in the knowledge that there wont be a cop for miles.

Law Enforcement Officer.
A few of the motorway cops are now going onto "b" roads since it is increasingly difficult to do a U-turn and chase on SH1... according to "information sources".
