Something nasty on the peninsula!

At 12.30 today - every fire engine , police car, ambulance we have in Waihi sped past my place. even the dog handlers ute! Nothing has come back yet but just now a big heavy wrecker unit from Tauranga went past.
Im guessing that a bus has gone over the edge somewhere. The road appears closed- very few cars have come down from Whangamata in the last hour.

Does anyone know what has happened!?

Road Down To 1 Lane Due To Truck Accidient. Whiritoa hill. Thats all i'v got at the moment.

Another Heavy Haul wrecker just went up, this one a low transporter trailer. must be too damaged to tow back.

Radio reports are telling us that the road is closed till approx 5pm while the truck is extracated and the load cleaned up- sticky Molassesthatll be good for traction or not!?.... I cant make my mind up :scratch:
