Now I know why I don't like doctors!

went to the doc last week about my knee, to try and get a medical to say i cant stand in one spot for 7 1/2 hours.
all the usual background-y stuff about why it hurts [bike vs car and knee sized dent in bike tank] upon mention of the tank "are you in the army?" :blink:
she has a look at my knee, "have you put on weight recently?" and i have, but its not the cause for knee pain, though its not helping matters either.
then she looks at my records and spends the rest of my appointment time nagging me to get a smear. :angry:

feckin useless woman. if i wanted a smear, id get one. stupid cow. go for a knee problem which gets blamed on excess weight, and end up being nagged about women problems instead. now i know why i dont volunterily go and see them. last time was 2003 for glandular fever where i was given meds that blocked up the plumbing and removed my only reason for struggling out of bed every day. :sick:

This is the very reason I have been to the same GP for 12 years now. I see him about maybe once every couple of years, but he's never let me down.

I'd seriously get a second doctor to have a look at your knee. You are entitled to question the diagnostic of the She-Bitch that just wasted your time. The trouble is, it can get a little expensive to find the right one.

This may infact turn out to be useless advice...but I cant help myself..
Having fought reasonably hard to get drs to take my sore foot seriously, I finally got a diagnoses (sp?) after 3mths...from my physio. Maybe you could go see your physio, its covered by ACC anyway and I found our local place a lot more thorough than the GP's, oh and they have NEVER asked me to get a smear done...:lol:
