Gear for big girls

Hey there -
Just learning to ride - and after advice on where I can get a big chicks jacket from - my hubby is a big guy (short jacket 4xl) this fits me but the arms are way too long - tried on some jackets specially for girls in shops around auckland but biggest I found was a 2xl and it was too small around bum, hips and boobs!!! :blank:
Need to spend enough $$$ to keep me safe - but lets face it got a budget to stick to - still kitting out teh old man who just gots his L's and bike!!
Also where can I get him good boots - good price!!??

Just go for a guys jacket that fits comfortably?No-one will even notice.

I go for guys gear ... it fits better on a the bigger ( or even slightly bigger than averge being size 10) woman rider!

Its also good to have slightly long ... as then you know it won't ride up and expose your back to the sun and end up with sunburn!

Lifestyle Imports are complete gear stop out at Pukekawa. Your'll find them in the ph.book. It's a fair old drive out (but not for you)but you wont be dissappointed.

Hi, I have a bunch of stuff here which is large sized as you describe, full spec two piece which is the QUASiMOTO brand, put the brand name in the search box above it will tell you what members of this site think of it..........nothing but good as its the best NZ brand.
if what we have doesnt work we can tailer make anything you need to fit you as you like, this takes about three weeks.

The womens gear seems to come in only relatively small sizings.

You are going to have to shop around to see what best fits you. There will be a mens jacket out there that will fit.

Women's gear sizing is seriously random. I mainly look at men's gear, because it tends to fit better. And there is a bigger range of things to choose from.
When trying things on, make sure you have a sit on a bike to see how it will fit when you are riding. My jacket fits really well when I'm on the bike, but when I'm off the bike the arms seem really long.

Her shop is not easy to find first time round. When you go into the arcade, go down a half-flight of stairs to a landing. Turn right - you'll see her shop on the left. If the door is open, you'll see a Kiwi Biker logo on the door...

Being a voluptuous wahine I managed to find (after lots of hunting around and trying on) a really nice looking jacket that was a good fit (I had the same problems with the dudes jackets having loooong arms). I got a couple of places to get jackets in for me and then I tried them on. To be honest though most of the retailers weren't very helpful, it was almost like they were trying to be polite/kind by ordering jackets that were too small - which was just bloody annoying! Also they didn't seem too interested in really investigating sizes for me, poor service and lack of interest in a customer need doesn't motivate me to go back to a shop again (anyway I digress!).

So eventually I looked on-line and then went in and ordered the jacket I wanted via my usual bike shop (Boyles in Wellington) and at the same time ordered a new pair of gloves and got a GREAT deal, I hadn't gone there initially because they don't stock a lot of gear in store.
