Yeah, Ivan mentioned that when I was in there last week picking up my new bike. He was actually wheeling the new floor demo bikes in while I was waiting for the workshop to finish putting a WOF on mine - they've got a GV250 in exactly the same paint scheme as my old one.

The first bike in their half page add is the GV250. I thought it was yours but then realised it didn't have the panniers on.

Probably they realised they needed an entry-level product to get new customers in their door, and then hook them long term into the upgrade dance. HD Sportsters aren't an entry-level product, but they're a good bike to sell someone moving up off a 250 when they get their full.

to get people in the door they could try and sell the bikes rather than having the punter begging to buy one and them thinking about if they can be fucked selling one today or tomorrow. I happened to be in there the other day for something and got just as shit service and the last time I was in there a year ago.

They must have your mugshot on a warning poster behind the counter or something. :) Seriously though, I've had great service from them, and that was even before I spent 18-large on a Harley. :)

That would probably be true, although they did sell them new from memory. I think the ZX9 I rode was their demo and it was blue.

Yeah that was early 99 and I'm not certain if they still had the franchise then. I must be getting old because I can remember when that building was home to Tim Gibbs Yamaha.:(

Nope, nothing to do with it. You can roll up on or in anything and get ignored. You can even ring them up interested in buying a bike and they'll take your details etc and promptly forget you existed.

Bought my first bike ( Honda CB125 ) from Pink & Collison in the 70's. Old Mrs Pink died recently at 102 years old, still run occasionaly with her young son Bob who is in his late 70's. That's what happens when you ride a Honda, you are immortal:laugh:

Got a new Honda dealer in PN now, City Honda and seem to be doing ok, they hava an impressive array of bikes and accessories and thier workshop from what i hear is ok. About time we needed a decent Honda dealer in town, just Yamaha not represented now since the demise of Phil Turnbulls
Freedom Honda is now Freedom Suzuki

Pretty hard to buy anything in there, they don't acknowledge customers,I might try and see if an attempt at hot wiring gets a response.Used to be able to do it to my TS185 and ER185 once semi sealed light was removed and could get into wiring, might work on Triumphs/Hyosung,no one wants to flog hogs(sorry horse).
