I was kindly gifted a back protector by Quasi which I no longer have any use for. So now I am offering it to a KB member for free.
But there is a catch. You need to provide me with an entertaining story as to why you want it or deserve it. Best or funniest story wins.
It has hardly been used and is as new because I look after my stuff. Submissions close 14th October 2008.
Being that most women cant make a decision easily...if I cant decide I will be asking Quasi to make the call

I'm just curious as to what the difference between a guys and a girls back protector is.
I already have a back protector, I always wear it, and I have a good (but not so entertaining for me) reason. My spine was all bent out of shape and twisted (not really for any specific reason) so now it has 2 titanium rods and 4 titanium bolts fusing 4 vertibrae together, yay.
Looking forward to other peoples reasons :)

Does it have to be a bike related story?

More "alluring" and "figure enhancing".
Obviously...

OK then... I am entering this comp on behalf of Lil'M, this is her story.
It was a BEARS race day, the day after the Battle of the Buckets which was very wet, and Lil'M rocked up in her MR2. She dragged her sopping wet gear out of the car boot including her new back protector and laid it out on the boot and bonnet to dry before kitting up for another days racing, Lil'M was new to this so was looking forward to it.
Rashika and myself parked up near to Lil'M and prepared our own gear after signing in late. Rashika realised her boots were still at home in front of the fire... panicking I asked Lil'M if Rashika could borrow her car to go home as we had a trailer on.
Lil'M said sure so I threw her riding gear on the ground and rashika tore of out the gate, just as I noticed 'M's' back protector hanging off the boot spoiler.
I got on the cell to R but I heard her cell ringing beside me, fark I thought.
Rang Buddha whom I knew was on his way out to intercept R but he was lost and they missed, Buddha had just come from home after braking into our garage to get R's boots.
R's boots were on the way to the track and M's BP was on its way home... I didnt like the idea that the BP will survive the trip.
Budda arrived and Rashika not far behind confused as to where her boots were, I ran to the car hopping to see Lil'M's brand new BP there grinning back at me... NA, it was gone, I jumped in the car and tore off risking missing out on my 1st race to try and find the BP, but no go it was a gone burger.
Mean while St8 jacket loned her BP to Lil'M as she had broken her foot the day before.
And that is that, the moral of the story, never forget ya boots.

Great story D! Almost reminds me of a day at Paeroa when one Mr Frosty put his back protector down on the hood of Nickos van. We hunted and damn hunted.....

A crash story from at 5 years ago on the Morning of ANZAC day. First corner as you go onto the Bethals Beach RD turn off. I was doing 125kms into a 25kms corner. (Some wowser removed the sign) and I paniced and locked the rear wheel up and hit a metal and dirt gutter and highsided the bike over a almost vertical bank ( it went a long way down). I flipped over the front of the bike landing on my feet in the bushes holding onto a branch so I wouldn't fall down the bank and the bike landed about 5m away from me.
The bike was sweet, just a few tassles of foliage. And I strained my back pulling the bike out. My mate who was following me lowsided his bike and fuct it. He dropped it watching me attempting to be a stunt gurl.

Well Mrs frosty coulda done with a back protector when we were in auzzie. Seems the Australian wildlife can be er-Lively up in the tamborine mountains.
On a side note entirely---Yes there ARE snakes in Australia but NO they dont like Pirelli corsa front tyres hitting them at 110km/h

I used to ride tamborine often, few bikers killed in them hills... and i use to hear the storys about snakes wraping around ya wheel as ya ride over them... came round a bend at 100k and there it was from one side of the road to the other, thought fuk times up but as I rode over it I relised the lack of a bump being a car tyre mark ment it was already dead, kept on riding thinking about the storys I heard about the roos...

It wasn't the roos, the wallabys or even the snakes that worried me. It was the friggin great piles of cow shit all over the roads. Im thinking where theres cow shit theres gotta be-----

How nice of you to give away free a Ladies Back protector which is exactly what i am after as I have entered the Taupo Spectacular meet at the end of December and need a back protector to be able to race. Have been away from the racing side of things for more than 20yrs and am so looking forward to getting back into it. Regardless of whether I win it or not I just wanted to say that it is so nice to see that there are people in this world like yourself who are prepared to give things away for free, as times are tuff for alot of people today with the way the economy is Im sure who ever wins it will appreciate it. Cheers.

Hey Madduck,
I'm up for a free BP ;)
My lil story: Coming over from France, i sold the one I had there, but could not afford one yet when I arrived in New Zealand...
The_Stranger, who i barely knew at this time, offered me to borrow his Scorpio so I could ride a bit by myself and not pillion all the time! So happy to be on a bike after 6 months without riding, I was going pretty hard (scorpiios are so light, you can throw them in corners very easily!) at a ATNR, at night, after riding the whole afternoon around north, without lunch or dinner..Not really a good idea!
A nice corner, maybe a 35, when i arrive about 100km/h, got me: thought, no way, i'm too fast, i will never make it (i actually never did lol)! So decided to go straight and try to brake, saw the gravels on side so stopped braking and landed on the grass, flew over the bike to land under some bush..Woke up in the dark, no idea where i was, so start climbing the hill to triumphally coming out of the bush, where everybody was worrying if I was alright or not!!
Bike was blinged with fresh green grass and mud, handle bars twisted and speedo broken, few bruises and shocked lol! And The Stranger still lean me his bike for the trackday the next week!
That's prety funny now, but i think i scared me and few people that night :jerry:
Big bling to Noel still from that night

i own a few cats 2 of them are very cheaky every time i go to get my keys 4 the bike they stand in front of the shed door so i cant get in and when i finally do manage to get in they end up sitting on the bike grabbing at my hands and many more naughty things they even go to the extent of hiding my gloves they just don't like to go anywhere without me i'm very shortly going to make a tank bag up to take them for rides
