Well folks, its been about a decade since I've had a holiday longer that a long weekend. Come the 4th of Feb, that is all to change. Sadly the CB is going to be put into the garage and not be used for 3 whole weeks (however the next week it'll be running me up to Northland) :crybaby:
With the fully laiden Toyota Surf, the misses and myself we will be rolling about the South Island, stopping all over the place to enjoy the local delights. :niceone:
If anyone sees a beige Surf with tinted back windows, a Taranaki Hard Core and KB stickers on the rear window, wave out :spudwave:
I'm set with all the tools to stop and help out my fellow riders and will be doing my best to allow everyone to get past :bye:
I'm just not too sure how well I'm going to handle not having my bike to ride  However I've been told that I get to go on at least two rides, on rented bikes :sweatdrop
So from the 4th I'll be outta here, no work, just fun wooooohoo
I'm doing as much as I can that run the risk of broken bones. Chopper up the mountian, MBing back down is the only one that I can remember :shit:
So take care all, once I've got my night shifts done my activity will plummet :argh: however I'll be having too much fun to care :done:

When you see those Southern roads you'll hate the 4x4. I'll keep an eye out for you from the 14th.

I agree with you lou, was down there last easter in cage and didn't really enjoy it too much and kept wishing I was on a bike, then went down earlier this month on a bike and just loved it. Only problem is the roads down there eat tyres with the ruffer chip they use.

It does 100km/hr and with the misses in tow, thats the max I can do. However Ive got a week up Northland once I return to see my boy. I'll be on my bike for that one :2thumbsup

Thats a very generous offer and makes me shed a tear, oh its sweat (31.6 degrees in here)(PT).
I'll stick the phone number on my cell and try and give you a whisle when we are in town, depending what time of the day it is. Cheers, just like that my faith in KBers has returned (after the hitcher affair).
For all those who would like to bad rep me, you will get your chance as I go back to normal, I'm told on late Tuesday afternoon. Fire at will, I will not retailiate, new yes resolution: "Stop being a cunt" (where is that picture?)
I know it probably sound like a coincidence, but JR is on his way back to England. He quit his job (well before he got fired, some say), came aroud with more bike parts, ranted and raved for half an hour and left. Not a happy man at the time. Sounds like all of NZ, inc me is a cunt. Some of you might agree.

I would not have a clue where and when I'm going to be at all. All I really know is that on the 4th we depart NP for 3 weeks in the South Island in the Toyota Surf. The better half has made all the planning in advance and it sounds like there is a shitload to do once we get there. I've got Sniper CBR's cell number on my cell, but I asked the misses and we'll only be there for an afternoon. However I'll attempt to ring him anyway. Anyone that would like me to attempt to make contact PM me with your cell number and what city your in. I won't promise anything, but I'll do my best. Hope its a bit cooler down there, its 30.7 degrees here in NP today.

Trust me they are, when's the last time you were in a traffic jam on the open road at 6pm on a Sunday arvo?

We got less traffic
We got less idiots (or they're spread further apart)
We got nicer riding roads (apart from the odd 1 or 2)

You got me on the first comment, the next time I get caught in a traffic jam will be the first - unless waiting at the stop sign by my place (where the side road joins SH1) for 15-20 seconds for a few cars to pass counts as a "traffic jam"? :spudwhat:

Down here we get "rush five minute traffic", occassional traffic jam if Farmer Bill shifts the sheep/cows just as you happen past. :yeah: Oh, and now and then we see one of them there Traffic Patrol Police cars or what ever they are called

inlinefour
4th March 2005, 06:04
Yea some parts of the north Island are a bit of a problem when it comes to traffic. However in a few parts of the South Island it is just as bad. Its not that the roads are better at all, in fact many of the roads are worse. However the scenery is often awesome! Also after not spending much time down there I have not spent much time on the roads.

Ahh Queenstown, an oasis of materialism in the wilds of the South.
Buzzing little place though.
You guys need to declare independance before it's too late. Then require visa's from Northy's. But do it after I get triple citizenship.

Right about the materialism, but to such an extent with some people down there :shake:
Reckon maybe AKL should be the same? Maybe with a large fence around it not letting anyone in, or out? :whocares:

Then what? Bikers will have to jump it, ala Steve McQueen?

I did hear something funny about Queenstown though.
They built an underground carpark.
Queenstown is the 4WD capital of the South, right?
But the entry roof is so low they can't get most 4WD's in. :niceone:

That would not surprise me. All the 4wds I saw down there very little actually looked like they could be usefull offroad. I'm sure a few looked sideways at mine covered in you know what and other stuff that does not need discussion, maybe they originally came from AKL? :spudbooge
