I would have however, Tuesdays is cheap movie night in town and it would be rude to not be there at home with the guy and also I don't know of the guy - the whole safety thing, you know and I have my boarder to look out for.

have never meet a dodgy kber yet & had a few that I have either stayed with or they have stayed with me. Even house sat for a couple that I had met once. I understand your concerns though. Most kbers seem to be very appreciative of the ability to stay with others around the country & do not abuse it .. great way to meet others with bikes as an interest as well

How the hell did you get a name like Meanie?

I've shied away from houseguests since I had the guest from hell. Lost the plot, wandered around outside with no clothes on, let the dog go free, bailed up and terrified my partner, crapped in three beds and left shit all over the bathroom (I really do mean SHIT):Oi:. All in less than 24 hours!
I hope that doesn’t put you off!

Sounds like you had a bad experience Ferris .... I feel lucky that we have had twenty or so Kbers stay at our place and no one has done anything like that yet. or anything bad fullstop ... I hope that continues for me and grub and that your luck with guests changes!!

Don't worry too much about being kidnapped. Your rapidly cooling carcass will be dumped in a hole someplace, its your bike the host would be after.

Drinks? You're a student right. I don't think there's enough stock in Manawatu.

What day are you riding to Wellington? Have they scared you yet? I think they're pussies.

I will indeed (even expecting rain all the way from Mon to Thur)

And nah, Wellington crew is yet quiet. I may arrive Wellington on Tuesday but then prob head straight up to PN again.

I don't really expect to meet many people tho. I mean, who am I to say "Meet me! meet me! I am from Auckland! I am kinda famous on KB so you must meet me! meet me!" you know? haha but I will accept Meanie's hospitality.

I don't know of the guy - the whole safety thing, you know

Maha and myself have just got back from a trip around the place and were the benefactors of hospitality from some wonderful KB members who had never met us either. We have hosted I cant tell you how many ourselves. Wise to be cautious certainly, but one look at this fellas profile should reassure everyone he is OK! I have met him, I did not see him eat children or anything, so you should be sweet

I've met several of this crowd over the past few weeks and they're pretty damn awesome (watch out for the swelled heads). Text me on 027 2469778 and I'll meet you at Taihape on the Tuesday and ride with you to Ashhurst. (Unless my bike has to go into the shop ... assessor calls.

The road/ gorge from Otorohanga to New Plymouth via SH3 is quite amazing... Thank goodness the rain started to pour AFTER I finished passing the gorge... phew....

Am currently at an accomodation in Wanganui, will hit the road around 9-10am so I may reach Wellington around 12-1pm.

Take it easy. Overcast and showers forecast for tomorrow and it's about 5 hours riding Wanganui - Wellington - Palmerston North. You'll probably be leaving Wellington in the rush so have patience. Text or call if any problems whatever. I will meet you part way. There are lots of KB contacts on that run.
