Is it a 'lead' trackday, or open? and do i have to have leathers?

Beemer
8th January 2009, 11:43
Do you mean a 'led' track day? As in the sessions have a lead rider? If so, the slow and medium classes will be led. Slow 120kph, medium 180kph.

Leathers are not compulsory, just decent road riding gear - helmet, gloves, boots, pants, jacket (pants and jacket can be cordura, they don't have to be leather).

Don't forget you out of towners, if it's raining in Wellington or wherever, that DOESN'T necessarily mean it is raining in Feilding - it seems to have its own microclimate and will often be fine when it's wet elsewhere. On a previous track day we heard a lot of Wellington riders didn't come because it was raining there but it was fine all day in Feilding!

I just spoke to my husband and he said apart from a shower that lasted about three quarters of an hour, it's been fine all day at the track and there has been an excellent turn out of bikes and riders. He didn't mention any incidents so hopefully that means everyone's had a great day and will be raring to go for our next track day in April!

Funny how it can be fine in Feilding and yet it's been steadily drizzling here in Levin for the past couple of hours.

What an awesome day!
Was my first trackday and i have to say, CDMTC put on a good show :)
Only a couple of small incidents that im aware of, and the drizzle/rain only lasted for 2 or so sessions.
I had a fantastic time, around 121k's of tracktime under my belt now :D

Cheers for the trackday CDMTC!

It was a wicked day despite not being on the track, I rolled around on the infield with a borrowed camera and got a few good hero shots of my mates there.

Some cool bikes there, 1970s ? Ducati's, a V-Max, Harley on nitrous ? pointy race reps etc, awesome !!

More than likely, although there has been a rumour that the price MAY go up to $50 as the cost of hiring the track, etc has risen since last year. Nothing confirmed yet, but the cost won't be more than $50 per person for the day. Be prepared to pay $50 and you may be pleasantly surprised!

Next CDMTCI track day is Sunday April 19 at Manfeild.

Oh look at that, I just happen to be in Palmerston North for the whole week after the next CDMTCI trackday...... bugger eh!
Hey Beemer, do you know anything about insurance for the CDMTCI trackdays? We're with Swann and we're covered for the Vic Club one this coming Sunday but they said they wouldn't cover us for the last CDMTCI one? Know any reason why that would be?

Beemer
15th January 2009, 11:35
I've just checked with Andy and he said the club stance on insurance is we don't get involved - it's up to the individuals and their respective insurance companies. We have no idea why Swann, for instance, would say they cover the Vic club track day but not ours.

I think it may pay riders who are worried about insurance to check with their own company.

If there are any insurance workers here who may be able to shed light on why one track day would be covered and not another, we'd be keen to hear from them.

Thanks Beemer. I'd be interested to hear myself, however I may just ask them myself and when/if I get an answer from them I'll let you all know.

I will if it's a reasonable sort of a day, weather forecast is'nt inspiring but it was'nt for last saturday either and it turned out ok for the trackday portion of the day anyway, it was dodgy a few hours after that though...
Early days in the weather forecast scene anyway, pity it was today, it's a scorcher!

But there will also be ppl at taupo on sunday who may be interested in a 955 speed 3 with a bloody great for sale sign on it ! The money i get for that, would equate to a lot of track time on the 1050 (not to mention an R1 or similar bwahahahaha, sorry Heidi, but you will just have to learn to ride the track)
Hehehe both bikes fit in the van !!!! Sigh ! I wish there was more of me to go round !

I had heaps of people thanking us for a fab, fun day. Glad people had a good blat out on the track. Even tho I wasn't riding this time, I had a bunch of fun too, everyone was buzzing great to see. Will look forward to seeing everyone at the next track day in April.
