Yes, this will be a goodie.

We did a recce ride yesterday and the area that this will be held in is near virginal forest.
Well,.. not the native type of virginal.. meaning that it hasn't been ridden in for a good half dozen years. This ride is right at the top of the Kaipara heads and promises to deliver a true forestry ride with flat knacker tracks coupled with tighter knarly stuff for the more experienced.

We had Chop (experienced track designer LOL), and Danger (Jeez he eats all the time, I mean he brings along a fully kitted packed feast) along and the general consensus was a big positive.

Photo's up tomorrow.

Special Thanks to Red Rider for the artwork. This guy is a legend!!

Any one know if Kawasaki will have a KDX200 test bike?
I'm guessing not seeing as they're not making them anymore.

A couple of "view" shots from advantage points looking toward Pouto and the Bombing range.

No, we can't ride in the padocks below. Damn.
Funny thing was we came around the bend to deserted army camp.
Danger thought that they had a cuppa tea and lunch waiting for us. We felt like Goldilocks and the 3 bears.

There was another ride up that way a while back (with the Sandpit crew?). It was the by far the _best_ ride i've been on - lots of open flowing sections, tight stuff, and a natural terrain mx track. If this ride is anything like the last it will be awesome!

Yeah same guys but different part of the forest and new tracks all together. We have most of the fast flowing stuff sorted already, now its a case of putting in some tighter windy stuff in between for those that like that sort of thing.

Yes, we have had to move this ride to the Sunday now so as not to clash with Big Boys Toys and the Kawasaki Dealers.

Probably suit some more and others less.(rocket scientist at work)

Hill climbs. Of course, we can find some and one area springs to mind.

Unlikely to be that tight, I don't get the final say on how much pruning gets done and tracks like that tend to create bottle necks on trailrides. But hopefully some fun windy stuff through the trees will be created.

yeah thats tru, bottle necks are a bit painfull some days, but some more techy stuff would be cool.

Whyties - Ngatea/thames generally clay

Noooo, Maramarua is on the 29th, I've been careful as there is only one other ride on that weekend, and that is in the Paeroa/Thames area. No Ken Fells, Rodney, Waitemata (they are the following weekend) Powers or MNZ racing.

Funnily enough we did find some clay. Good for roosting ya mates eh chop?

Hey KTMboy your not the only one that has tummy to kill switch troubles on the hill climbs. I was telling Trev during yesterdays ride about the trouble you were having and whamo, he started having the same problem. And he's just lost 6kg!

Yes, there seems to be a growing proportion of riders having this tummy to kill switch problem. I'm working on mine and will have it rectified very soon.

Getting a new kill switch:laugh: Well, its the easy option!
