Hey guys,
I got myself a Xena Disc Lock. Problem is it doesn't like me, stink.
Just about o get to sleep at night... or already asleep is the worst case scenario, and then, BEEP, BEEP "ALAAAAAAAAAARM"... No cats in the garage or whatever, it just goes off at random times. It also is very INSENSITIVE, I can put it on, shake the handlebard like a crazy gorilla, and the thing won't go off.
I have replaced the batteries, I have tried the lock at 12 oclock and 6 oclock (top of the disc and bottom of the disc).
Is something up or am I the owner of a f***ed disc lock alarm.
STEVEN.

Suspect you have a faulty unit, take it back where ya got it from... Re sensitivity, Mine (about a year or so old,) will alarm if you move anything... bars, or even just bump the bike. I assume the holes in the brake disc aint odd shaped that the magnetic/switch in the unit is on an edge or something,

it seems to me that all the xena disc lock alarms are super sensitive but the fact that shaking the handlebars doesn't set it off is worrying.
you should definitely replace it. but keep in mind that the new one will probably go off at all times as well. where you park your bike and what kind of cover you have, the wind & rain that night etc will make a big difference to whether your alarm goes off (in my experience. just takes a bit of experimenting)

How well cross drilled are your disks? As far as i can tell it will go off if you tilt the bike, or if it thinks someone has moved it off the disk (could happen if it falls into the holes on the disk) shaking the bars wont do much unless you manage to set off the tilt sensor....

I have been looking at the Xean locks recently. This is the first time I have heard of problems however has anyone else had similar problems? I don't want to be the guy with the random alarm that keeps going off all the time. Thanks.

Mum's given the disc lock the big FUCK OFF. The darn thing keeps going off all the time. I went to go see Andrew from the auckland uni BC and he tried it on his bike, worked perfectly. I tried another disc lock on my bike and it didn't go properly, but went properly on his.
My discs are aftermarket metal gear discs, so stock CBR250's should be fine I guess.
Bit of a pisser. :weep:

We have two Xena locks.
One had a faulty speaker, and the distributor fixed that by replacing the centre unit, works great now.
The other one, which we thought was working fine but hadn't really used much, goes off randomly, alot, even thought the bike is inside and totally undisturbed. To be fair though we have only tried it on hubby's bike, so I shall try it on mine and if it still does it, I'll contact the distributor again.

Little does he know it, but a club member with a red vtr250 has his one go off occasionally in the carpark, if i hear it go off twice ill go down and spin the wheel slightly, repositioning it on the disk, and it doesnt go off after that
