What a weekend..........I am officially knackered but pleased with my results.

Left home at 5am Sat morning wondering what weather the weekend would bring, arrived at the track to find it overcast and spitting on and off. Having not had a race since Rnd 2 was eager to just get on with it regardless of conditions though.

Qualifying : Waited till 20mins away before deciding to go out with my SuperCorsa's due to showers, a dry line had formed from the 1st qualifying session. Bike felt good and managed to qualify 7th, in front of some fast lads to my surprise.

Race 1 : Got a really shit start, saw Brian woods take off on the 5th light then stop, then the lights went out and I dumped the clutch and the front came straight up and was swallowed by the pack, red flags into the hairpin, race stopped due to a nasty pileup on the start grid, hope you guys all heal well.
Restart : Better start and settled quickly, was going well until my right forearm pumped so badly I could hardly hold on, then bloody Eddie got passed but the race was red flagged again, luckily for me the previous lap was the last one counted and to Eddie's disgust I bet him for 7th:laugh:

Race 2 : Was really concerned about my arm for the 20 lapper, got some good advice from Nicki on body position which helped me last the distance. Had a good start and was catching Jay and then passed him albeit for only a few laps, but I'll take the glory anyway. Got a bit of arm pump again and Jay got by and made a gap. Turned out the race finished after 19 laps due to coolant spilled in Higgins, I was the last person not to be lapped by Craig so I was stoked with that. Came in for 6th.

Race 3 : Good start and I just went for it knowing it was only 8 laps, got out on my own in 6th and was slowly catching Johnny B (probably because he was tired) but just couldn't hold my pace due to being stuffed myself. Another 6th.

Overall result for the weekend I came in 5th:eek: This is more to do with some riders not finishing or saving energy for the 600 class races, but to me it counts haha. Didn't get into the 11's as I had hoped for but got some good results.
Have to thank my lovely wife for all her support during the weekend and my pit buddies too. Was great catching up with everyone again and meeting more fellow racers.
Sorry for dribbling on so long, Roll on Rnd 6 :done:

Err...........yes....... I was well and truly pumped up for the start and got a little ahead of myself.

I kind of think my jump start then stop, may have triggered the pile up that followed in some way and very sorry to those that got hurt if that was the case.

You seem to have got a lot quicker Tony - dicing at the front end of the pack suits you and its good to see you flying the Honda flag high.

If you keep this rate of improvement you will have to shout the whole garage a coffee and smoko next round Tony.

Keep it going and make that Honda count.

Paul.
