That really, really sucks...I mean as a woman, I have been subjected to sexual harrassment from the CEO of a company I used to work for...

Now, I was already engaged to be married back then, and had always made it clear this 50 something balding and pot bellied individual never had any chance in hell
Didn't stop him from thinking that grabbing my arse at work parties was ok...

I really thought 007XY was going to kill him. I was told by my manager to just keep it quiet and just avoid him as much as possible. Now, THAT is truly fucked up

It doesn't matter whether it happens to a man or a woman, sexual harrassment sucks!

You know what? I shamefully admit I took the easy way out and just left the job for peace sake...

But the fact is, when you can't afford a good lawyer, and you're still too well paid for legal aid...well, let's just say that the battle is not always worth it.

Well that is true and sometimes turning a blind eye and taking the 'easy' way out works out being the more sensible approach... Although if you know where he lives... we could always pay him a visit and see what he thinks about being thrown naked onto K road :chase:

The thing is, I kind of had my revenge a little later to be honnest.

After I left, I was still invited to the company's Xmas do...which I turned up to, as most of the crew were (and still are) friends of mine.

Anyway, Grubby old Fuckwit grabbed my arse, and this time I didn't growl low, I made sure that his wife and everyone around heard me when I told him to "keep his F**king hands off me, you dirty pervert!"...I felt bad for his wife as she is a lovely lady, but frankly I'd had enough, and he didn't have me as an employee anymore.

:D needless to say, he has never touched me again while I socialised with that crew.

That's a pretty funny article though... even though it's wrong. I can't believe that sorta thing goes on. I've worked in a division of the building industry for 12 years now, seen heaps of crazy drunken times, but never that kinda bullshit. A flick to the nuts = a punch in the face. ...In my opinion.
Intersting read though, not something you see in the news everyday.

I had a clown grab my ass while I was on the bike at the lights, in Peak Hour traffic on Rangitiki Line a couple of weeks back! Madness! Scared the crap out of me having someone even touch me while on the bike - wasn't expecting that and jump half a mile. Hes bloody lucky I didnt dump the bike.

He jumped out of a van next to me, grabbed my butt and asked for my number! He got the standard 0800 get f$%ked number after I recovered.

Man on man happens more than you'd think. I *know* of a situation that once happened in the barracks involving a man ripping the towel off another guy and admiring things. Got messy and angry and it went on for awhile before it was brought to my attention. Potentially violent as well.

Guys tend to close up about these things and not deal with them at the time and in an appropriate manner. Eventually it comes out and and they do snap and react. Not normally in a good way.

Other guys all treat it as a joke and not a reality as well, until the attention falls on them that is. So its not seen as sexual harrassment by them and dealt with as such. By the time it IS acknowledged for what it is, the problems already out of hand.

Think about it. What would you do, as a guy, if you had another guy grab your ass and say how hot it was? Be honest now.

Would you
a. laugh and say "Thanks!" It would take a strong confident guy to do that.
b. whack the hand away and say "Oi! Get off!" - perhaps
c. Turn and slam the guy up against a wall and tell him exactly what your going to do to him if he even LOOKS at you again?
d. freak out about poeple thinking your gay, like its a major problem or social stigmata, and go out of your way to prove otherwise, and yell at him to "Bugger off F%g!"...?

I was at a stag night recently, and some guys were 'sack wacking', and saying 'do you take eftpos' and trying to run their hands up guys butt cracks. Most of the guys that were doing it know me, and left me alone (wisely). One guy I didn't know was about to try it, until I turned round to see him behind me with his hand getting WAY to close. I suggested (nicely of course) that if he continued then I'd punch his face so hard he'd be shitting teeth for a week :bash:

So it does really happen, although why these dickwits think it's funny is beyond me.

Its a known fact that its easier for women to try stuff with other women rather than it is for men... Maybe these guys are desperate and end up doing shit like this to feed their cravings? Just a thought....

But yeah I'd probably stick my fist halfway down his face if I had a straight guy touch me the wrong way!! If a gay dude does it.. hes probably messing with ya.. knowing that you'd feel uncomfortable! Not my scene either... might give him a girly slap.. lol

Probably C to be honest, or something along those lines. Normally grabbing a wrist & twisting, or bending a finger back is effective too. Slightly more subtle.

"Genital flicking" WTF????

I worked in the building industry for some years and I never heard of such "commonly known practices"...

Almost makes you wonder whether the whole thing is not a pisstake...

I have certainly seen and encountered such things. They were (when I was younger) commonplace in workshops and factories.

There was no sexual connotation at all, it was just 'hazing'. Like the Honda innuendo here.

Apprentices were commonly subjected to various genitally related humiliations - shaving the pubic hair with a chisel, glueing the dick down (very painful I'm told) and such like.

'New chums' would be subjected to the sort of behaviour mentioned in the article. Until they showed that they could 'handle the jandal', so to speak.

Reacting as this man did is quite the worst way to deal with it. Either ignore it, simply state that you are not offended but you don't like it, please don't do it, or turn it back on the perpetrator (eg "Oh, that's nice. Shall we go get a room [LOUDLY so every one hears] Joe's just invited me to share his man-love. He looks pretty desperate so I'd better say yes. We'll be back in an hour. Or two. Well, I will, Joe will if he can handle it". Joe will back off fast)

I had best specify that I was never the butt of any of the more extreme forms, nor did I inflict them.

Yea he could of said something and really got at them about it to stop. Hell at our work we are in teams so everyone in each team is good mates and usually gets along really well. So i've watched a team mate who was leaning over a towbar get the old dry hump from behind, and hell it was funny he thought so himself so was making the noises with the guy doing it. Mind you we work from 7pm till 6am and it usually happens about 4am in the morning when ya need a good laugh.

But if someone doesnt want that to happen they just have to say in our workplace.

I recall hearing of a similar occurrance in a garage where it was quite common.
Workshop foreman (who wore a shopcoat) was doing summat inside a car with his arse sticking out. Mechanic ceremoniously folded his coat tails aside then dry humped him. Couldn't understand why he fought back so hard, until he looked up and saw the car's horrified owner and her 16 y/o daughter standing on the other side!

Rite of passage you say? hmmmm...

I have to admit I have never been subjected to the female equivalent, which from reputation is filled with very demeaning, equivalent practices.

Besides, I've never wanted to "fit in" to any environment...so anyone who would have told me I had to put up with that sort of crap to be accepted would have been told to jump off a cliff.

Damn, but can humans be dumb creatures! I'm sure the subject has filled many an empty afternoons for young sociologists.

The genital flicking one I haven't seen but I can imagine it happening quite easily amongst a bunch of mates standing in a circle with drinks. Kind of a step up from slamming your stubbie on top of someone elses so it froths all over the floor.

The dry humping is more common, usually in informal male dominated work places. It's nothing sexual, just an opportunity to embarrass a good work mate in front of the boys for a bit of harmless fun. Of course I'd never do it to anyone I didn't know well.....thats kinda creepy.

But yeah it usually starts by someone bending over to do something (under a table/desk is even better so they can't get up quickly) and someone else racing up behind, grabbing them by the belt and doing the "rodeo rider" dance while loudly yelling out "Yeah that's right, you my bitch!!!". Then everyone else turns around and busts out laughing.

Once the victim extracts himself amidst much swearing, a brief wrestling match ensues to even more laughter until some senior figure growls "STOP FUCKING AROUND AND GET BACK TO WORK!!"

Reading that makes me wonder if that man has ever been in the trade before. His work mates are just taking the piss. Thats what alot of people forget and take it personally. Its very common within the trades
One of my favourites is to stand infront of a co-worker while they are kneeling on the ground for whatever reason and I start unzipping my overalls and say "while your down there". This one is really good to do to guys that are insecure about there sexuality and feel that one gay joke will make people think they are.

Damn but my life has been dull. Only ever been sexually harrased verbally and well I am well practised in the art of verbal battle so I don't take anything 'lying down' as it were...the 'perpetrators' of such behaviour have always walked away from me wishing they hadn't started it in the first place and somewhat overwhelemed with the ease at which I can go there be twice as offensive and provide a good bitch slap at the same time.

My advise would be that the most effective verbal sexual abuse (eg. good from the perspective of the giver) is best aimed at more timid and less frank individuals than I
