This year there have been quite a few rides organised through this forum that have been a lot of fun. I have been to some places I did not know existed!, met some other crazy ADV riders, in short had a ball

Let me know your thoughts about meeting up somewhere in December say at lunchtime Saturday, have a ride, overnight with a nice meal and drinks etc, then maybe another ride in the morning before heading home.

Wives, girlfriends, civil union partners... etc would be most welcome and if not into biking could meet us for the meal etc.

Turangi, Taumaranui, Taupo etc seems to be central to most people and it is possible to get there for (say) a 1.00pm meet without having to get up too early.

Anyone keen?

Sounds like a great idea. Could I recommend the 13th/14th of December? We are busy on the 7th/8th, and the 20th/21st is getting a wee bit close to Christmas.

Early December, myself and Qkkid should be able to attend.........any thought on the roads/tracks? 42nd Traverse?

The Turangi Campgrounds is a cheap/friendly place to say, shouldnt be as cold as Queens Birthday...

+ 1 for the 42nd traverse and fishers track ?
Turangi would also be a good place to stay and explore with all the tracks off the desert rd - tuakino ski feilds etc.

Not weekend of 6th Dec though , as that is Coromandel Goldrush ADV ride.

Sounds like a great idea, count me & Phil in, dates are pretty flexible at the moment. Just a matter of sorting out a suitable venue ie; somewhere that can do food and drink for our size group

Whats happening here Guys n Gals, there does not seem to be much interest in this ride. Alpine Express trail ride has been cancelled :shit: on December 13/14 so i have a free weekend with a leave pass already sorted. :scooter:

Be silly of me not to use it  sooooo ------- who`s up for a ride somewhere

If its any easy ride I might be able to talk SUZI GIRL into coming along also.

I was just waiting for the excitement from HBAR to die down, then was going to say something. But didn't get around to it.
I'm keen. I think Turangi-ish could be a good base.
I'm happy to lead a cruisy/girls option one day, if others wanted to do something a bit more technical (42 Traverse etc).

Whose turn is it to organise a ride? I've already done one this year

hi Mike et al - I could be interested - an outing for the 1150 - however, I think marks was thinking of doing the Makiro Track that weekend - just a one dayer - too many rides so little time! Certainly - I've already set the expectation here at home of that weekend being my next ADV ride.

cheers all Aslan
