A 300km Endurance race is being planned at Pukekohe on the 8th of May. only F1 & F2; with GP125 support races and Post Classic support races.

should be a lotta fun. 180 laps or so? Whoever fronts up to race will need a pit crew 'cause its a lot of work endurance racing and you'll probably need a tyre change as well as refuels of course.

Sudeep I reckon this would be an awesome challenge for ya...! Chris get that K5 out....I'm too chicken....

Holy shit! That's me!

Do you have a 2 rider team or is it single rider?

Who's quick at changing Gixxer 1K wheels?

Fuck me, where's the entry forms......

Oooooohh, arrrrrrr.... 180 laps sounds fucking insane!!!!! Hmmmm, I'll definetly investigate on the matter further. If it looks like a go, this could be quite fun.

Cheers Guy for bringing this up!

What if... you used road tyres and not change them at all??? So when others change tyres, you keep going.....

Wish i could do it.....

I'm gonna try to be out there, we did the first 4 hour at Manfield in 2000 on an R6 and managed the whole distance on one set of tyres (179 laps), the rear SC-2 was stuffed and so too was the brake pads by the end...we finished 11th out of 30 riders in the 600 class, refuelling every 50mins or so.

Quite a few extra rules to think about, pit crew in overalls & balaclavas, fast fuel dispensers etc. Plus physical fitness is important.

Just have to find a proddy bike to ride now :msn-wink:

I have no idea if your event is to be run to international rules, but just in case it is, this is a link to the summary of rules and classes on the official World Motorcycle Endurance Championship website. (I used to work for these people in the 1st year of the championship - I think there is still a fair bit of my stuff about in there)
