Hey as most of you are aware Robert has alot to do with racing and is known to most as DR Taylor after his suspension work,
Heres a bit of a plug for him as the ammount of effort he is putting in to help me improve is great and I am very VERY greatful.
I get alot of people telling me dont bother about your suspension learn to ride faster little do they know that is actually hurting and sayign that I am a slow rider now I admit I am no Sam Smith but I feel I have put a lot of effort and money into racing this season and to be told that always hurts,
Now Robert is known to be the man who will only help you if your Sam Smith sorry bout using that name its just the easiest to spell.
But I TOTALLY disagree me I am running mid field in F3 and he has spent alot of his time helping me out from setting up the rear shock for me to improving the rear shock and even working on my emulators.
I know this is proabably garble to most but to me its saying something out loud about someone who spends His weekends to come help guys like me and you.
And give him a yell out to at the track nice guy to get on with as well

Robert has also been very willing to offer me advice. Quite frankly I wonder how he makes any profit as he must spend a huge amount of time just helping people out and not getting paid for it. He's a top bloke, and I agree with you Ivan, anyone who belives that Robert only has time for top level racers is very mistaken.

I see from your posts Ivan, you have a bit of difficulty expressing yourself ?
Fair enough putting a plug in for RT.
I get from your post you are trying your heart out to get better at this racing lark. Keep your head down and continue to work at it , but remember, some of us just don't make the grade ,as much as we try.
Do the best you can and be proud of that . Gaz (yoda)

My advice would be forget what people say about you (NZ is full of knockers, which is sad). Get what you can out of the sport you love while you are doing it. It really doesnt matter how `good' you are - it's not your job and `good' is relative anyway e.g. Sam Smith is no Casey Stoner so is that grounds to knock him?
Agreed re RT also - he's a tradesman, a Professional and a decent gent.

Most of the people with big mouths are either hangers on or sitting in the stands anyway. Even being at the back of the field on a track is WAY better than being a spectator. Do what you love Ivan, it's your life not theirs.
A point of note; I distinctly remember a number of people (and I remember who they are) having a good laugh at a young tubby Scott Dixon's first forays into "real" motorsport and now.......... I note that none of these big mouths eventually amounted to anything in motorsport, or pretty much anything else for that matter.

Hey all thanks for comments.
I wasnt wanting a sympothy cry either what I am trying to put through is some appreciation to Robert and using a rider of my ability to get across what I wanted to say.
While I am in here and posting another guy I really want to put a plug in for is Shaun Harris, without Shaun I wouldnt be were I am today the advice he gave me in 2005 be it as little as it may have been gave me a massive confidence boost,
Cheers to Both of you

Actually I was prepared to help this guy out because he is very polite and unassuming. Anyone who asks and has good manners gets help.

I'll vouch for that 100 times over ! I have taken a constant stream of crazy questions and ideas to Robert and Dennis over the past 12 months, and they have NEVER failed to give whatever time they can (and often more than they should) I know I wouldn't be alone in saying that. Nobody should be scared of asking - these guys don't bite, but I think it helps if you put whatever thought you can into your questions. And if you aren't using an Ohlins TTX shock, and GP25 cartridges you just don't know how good a bike can be !

Having your own short person on the premises to carry out empirical studies on I thought youd realise by now that I, like most short people, (Hitler, Mussolini and Dennis included) have a superficial charm beneath which were basically pricks.

My own empirical studies ( actually not including Dennis ) and the lessons of history point to a direct correlation between vertical disposition and attention seeking. It would be a bit of an understatement to point out that Hitler, Stalin, Mussolini, Napolean, Mussolini, Muldoon and Cullen all share similiar vertical disposition and are all the ultimate attention seekers. One hopes that the only one still alive in that group is also about to recieve the same ultimate rejection of those that pre-deceased him.

I hope that the one in that group still alive gets the same treatment as Mussolini received at his ultimate demise!
Rcktfsh's demeanour is directly related to the fact that his bike is running crappy Paoli suspension and he can't afford on the student allowance that we fund for him via the vile Dr.Cullen's taxes, to buy Ohlins. :bleh::whistle:

Ah given enough time every thread degenrates into basist, prejudist rantings! Now it's heightism. Wonderful.
So, given that (pretty much) all the best motorcycle racers have been `of compact, economical proportions' we can dismiss most of motorcycle racings' victories as mere `attention seeking'. Brilliant.

Well then it is your prerogative to agree , disagree, ignore and choose to vent your disapproval or otherwise. To my best knowledge we are not yet a fascist state but when that arrives in its ugliest state it may follow the examples of history with respect to vertical disposition, or lack thereof.
I will accept no blame for starting what was a totally good natured ( and thanks to my chosen protestant anglo saxon god ) a totally un pc banter. I will accept full blame for continuing to milk it. The perpetrator is in fact lacking in height but has a lively sense of humour and is in no way burdened by bad manners or attitudinal ''throwing toys out of his cot'' antics at the flick of a switch, or other suchlike personality disorders.
I employ a rather small person but he was employed not because of his height but because he is an extremely capable and very fastidious mechanic, first and foremost. It also rather helps that he largely has a quiet demeanour and likes the same background 60s / 70s / 80s music that I do. It also helps that he shares the same political views, actually I admit it, that helps a lot.
I have worked with and or helped people that have serious jekyl and hyde personality disorders, short and tall. Equally distasteful and there is no justification for it, whatsoever.

If I remeber rightly, you and Dennis are about the same height., and given that you share similar political views ( quite dissimilar to mine, as you know), similar interests, and a similar taste in music, perhaps you should consider marriage in the near future ? it's a long road finding the perfect woman . . . . . . . .

Lucky indeed ! And proof there is life beyond political viewpoint ! It did occure to me that we are fortunate that you come from a Protestant background, and are therefor conditioned to work your arse off with little expectation of reward. Imagine the Budhist take on your job - "the suspension is wrong and wrecked the tyre, but that's o'k because it'll come back as a better one" or Zenist - "it's all wrong, but that's the way it WANTS to be" or Catholic or Jewish " It doesn't work, and i feel SO guilty" or, lastly, the Scietologists view " It isn't working, but i know the Aliens will fix It". I think we can all be glad that you are who you are !

First off, I must say I am VERY pleased with the quality of service and products that emanate from your workshop. My Hornet is vastly improved since I fitted one of your shocks and re-fitted the forks after your work on them.
When I have learned enough to ask a meaning-full question about my bike's setup I will not hesitate to ask you (politely), for some advice/tips/tricks to get the most out of it.
Sex, politics, religion, crime and punishment, Police powers, the size of Dr Cullen's brain versus his physical stature and the relative brain sizes of other past and potential Finance Ministers is an analysis that would be best carried out over a beer :drinknsin

Well frankly Robert I'm appalled at the obfuscation you have introduced to this thread - you know very well that those girls (who are not that flash by Swedish standards) are actually employed by Ohlins and are in fact the people that taught you everything you know!
That photo was taken at the Ohlins secret test facility in the Bahamas at the recent 'Electronics in Suspension' seminar at which you yourself were a guest.
What to the uninitiated appear to be glasses of orange juice are in fact measuring beakers from the open-air laboratory which is unfortunately out of shot in the extreme foreground.
The technicians pictured were asked to estimate the suspension fluid volume of the hitherto top secret TTX66 electronically controlled shock absorber based on what they had learnt in that days seminar class.
Due to the miniaturised components and breakthrough technology involved it turned out that the technician second from left was the winner of this impromptu contest. Note the colour and viscosity of the high tech fluid used in these advanced shocks. Rumour has it that these shocks not only feature electronic damping control as seen recently in WSB but also an advanced form of electro-magnetic ride control utilising Ohlins breakthrough synthetic Magneto-Rheological fluid with its distinctive yellow-orange hue.
Anyhow, now that I have broken the silence would you care to enlighten us further?
(P.S. Much of this information as you would appreciate is second hand and may not be 100% accurate, though the basic content I'm assured is correct, I'm sure Robert will correct any technicalities within the bounds of any confidentiality agreement he may have with ohlins)
