Tobin murder trial begins

The first step of the trial of seven defendants accused of murdering Gerry Tobin as he returned home from the Bulldog Bash is underway as a jury is sworn in. The trial is expected to last for up to eight weeks at Birmingham Crown Court.

Sean Creighton, 44, and Karl Garside, 45, pleaded not guilty to murder during a previous hearing in February, while Simon Turner, 41, Dane Garside, 42, Malcolm Bull, 53, Dean Taylor, 47, and 46-year-old Ian Cameron entered their not guilty pleas last December.

Sean Creighton, 44, has admitted to the murder of Gerry Tobin.

Creighton, who also admitted two firearms charges, was remanded in custody and will be sentenced at the end of the trial for the other six men accused.

Just a quick note to say I've merged the two threads, just in case someone thought yet another Angel had been shot in the UK.

The one in the Times article is Gerry Tobin, who was shot on his way home from the 2007 Bulldog Bash. The court case has just begun... with one of them admitting to killing Tobin.

Big difference between Tobin and the one shot Hastings way was that Tobin was on the way back from a big festival... and the one run by the Angels, no less.
