View Full Version : Streetstock 150 rider wanted
Billy
3rd October 2008, 09:36
I Have a KR150 available for round 6 of the Actrix winter series,Would prefer a rider who has been thinking about giving it a go but doesnt want to risk their roadbike.Have offered this bike to Clivoris to replace the mighty CBR but couldnt afford the 15 million euros he wanted as a riders fee.So its ready to go for somebody else. All you need to do is enter it and put petrol and oil in it.NB AJ Turbo need not apply you have done enough damage this year already LOL.Would prefer under 20yrs for junior class but would consider other riders.PM or call me on 0212928400
PS Some coaching available if required(however this may cause you to go even slower or crash)and also if you beat me or even pass me you will be immediately excluded from the results and the bike repossessed under rule no. 21/12(no biting the hand that feeds you)LOL

Cheers man, well that will give him a little more time to crack the no.1 tag in the dirt bikes then ! He's only just turned 11 and has the biggest kahoonas i've seen !
His old mans lovin it, goes to these meets in a beat up dereged van ! Pulls up next to the 30 k trailers with two spare bikes in em etc etc !
Billy wheels his bike out and goes out and nails em all !
Got to love his sportsmanship though, Had a couple of nasty crashes this year and the best he could get last weekend was 2nd again, so decided not to race on the day to allow someone else a bit of glory !
Different racing i know, but cant wait to see how he goes on a track !

Don't forget about Young Junior Road Race. See rule 15 - 17.
In the last championship we had NZ's youngest ever champion at (just turned)
15 and another the youngest ever round winner at 14 years old.
Where did the get this experience? Young Junior Road Race at age 11 / 12 then a year in Streetstock. Then, with 38 Road Race entries in his log book , the future champion went to 125 GP well prepared while still 13.
Come on North Island, get the young ones out there on litle RG 50's and stuff in the slack time available at EVERY RR meeting (lunchtimes etc) and you'll get true youth in the sport

I would be keen to help out the younger riders at the track following/leading them around, but it's going to take someone a little higher up in the club to get things going :)

Yup, i think that this is something we should continue to look into, if we want to bring up some good racers then we need to get them as much track time as possible :2thumbsup:

Who's the newbies, ive seen several around the paddock recently.
Maybe we can get together a couple newbies to be followed/get followed for a few laps (Minimal) in lunch time. This round coming up AJ?.
I know that the majority of the back markers in 150's are just kinda riding without any direction. Even a few laps with the correct lines would help them very much.

Now you tell me .
If AJ can get some track time at lunch time (a few laps). Im sure i could convince at least a couple of the slightly slower guys too follow for a lap or two and then vice versa.
Im sure geoff and the croft boys will be keen.

I suspect that poor Billy may have his hands full with the absolute noob that he has so very generously offered his bike to......and will no doubt need  at the end of the day.

Another "now you tell me" here too!
Luke gave me a bit of a demo run which helped heaps.
I'm another who is keen to help, maybe its going to take a bit more of a push somthing that we ALL need to help with is getting it moving, not just leaving it all to AJ.

ok people..
the word from the VIC club and the lunch time "ride"...
there are no (NO) flag marshals...
therefor NO riding....
yes i HAVE put the case across a few times.. even re-worded it..
same answer... seams that the MNZ OR the race boss is not prepared to stick their neck out, they think we are going to be racing... i am unsure how many times i have said that it is for coaching... one tends to get a bit dishearten after a few no's....
but if there is enough people to help with the coaching ( don't ask me as i suck).. we will need NO MORE than 2:1 coach...( ie: if we have 3 coaches.. that will mean 6 riders...)
lets talk at next round eh?..... get a plan of attack for the vic club...
personally i don't think we need flaggies.... as the speeds will be very slow.. even stopping to chat on the track ( that why we cannot have too many)
Billy
7th October 2008, 22:06
Count me in if you can get some tracktime,Dont see the need for marshalls Brian Bernard doesnt have them when he does 1 on 1 coaching

I was just thinking that.
Maybe we should organize something on the extension for next year? SS150's can run there and then in between race's they can have a coaching session or something. More marshalls needed and more track hire fees :(. But it might be worth a think. Espically since doing this would mean one more free class spacing. So therefore the day for the big boys will be a bit more spread out.
Just an idea, i know about manfield canning the back extension, but it sounds too me like they are just making it into a smaller track.
Ideas! Ideas! Let's do something. Talk next round.
On another point. Is there no one actually wanting to ride my 150? Even old people? Preferably young. PM ME.

Correct no one has approached me :).
I'm afraid you might fit front controls on it, and start grinding away at the pavement.
If i don't get a rider in the next couple of days its yours. Also gives me time, to test it. Entries must be in by the 11th.
Engine should be fine. If it goes boom. No biggy, ill make sure it doesn't.

You gonna bring it too buckets? It would be good practice still (even if you paid just 10$ and went out in C), and won't matter if your bin it. Unlikely to seize it at those speeds/rpms And your build you confidence with cranking it over a bit more. Plus We'll be there!. I have trailer.
