Hi all, I have a 91 Suzuki GSX 400 F Slingshot in the factory charcoal. There are a few scraches etc and I would love a new colour on it. I've used spray cans alot (including on a car) but have ZERO experience with a spray gun. I'm thinking the best thing to do is to get my fairing painted professionally.
My question is, Do any of you guys know of a good but cheap place to get the painting done. I don't mind if any of you guys know some one who would do it out of thier home garage or shop, long as the job is good and cheap.
I rang a place in Manukau who quoted $50-$80 per panel of fairing but since I have 4 pieces of fairing excluding the mud guard and fuel tank, I can't afford to cough up $300 for the paint job.
Also does anyone know how to/where to get custom designs done like flames etc and how much would that cost?
I really really don't want to kill it with spray cans at home but if I might have to if I can't find some where cheap.
Thanks for ur help guys.

$50 - $80 a panel sounds pretty good to me, depends on what type of paint they will be using.
Theres a fair bit of work involved in the process, they will need to rub the panels down and prime them, then rub them back and top coat them.
I painted my last bike in a 2k metallic, paint cost was around three hundred alone for some elastic etch, 2k primer, 2k colour and 2k clear, but the result was awesome.
You get what you pay for really. You will never get a good result with a spray can.

Good and cheap when it comes to paint jobs should never be used in the same sentance
that what you were quoted was cheap,
Fooken ell mate
I got my tank two side covers and rear fender painted , $500 I though that was cheap. ( look at my activar for the paint job)
You pay penuts you WILL get monkeys, first spill of fuel over your Tank and you will know how cheap a cheap job looks.

If you want it done cheap do all the prep yourself - sanding, primer coat and any repairs etc. Then just pay someone to do the top coat and clear coats.
