Welcome from a newbie too. You could also try Italian Motorcycle Owners Club. They meet in Auckland at the Cavalier tavern in College Hill, Ponsonby on the second Wednesday of each month so you just missed a meeting. I went this week and they seem to be a decent sort of group.

they have a website too I think.

Finally some pictures of my bikey! I have it on good authority the red makes it go faster :)

I've been taking it out quite a lot lately, its neat how much attention a pretty guzzi gets compared to a decrepit Gn250. I'll be going down to the guzzi rally in Turangi soon so if you're there come say hi!

Welcome welcome.
The place to stay is 'The Habitat' for the rally. Might be a little booked by now, but there are camping and lodge type accomadation still.

Nice smallblock, my g/f has the 'T' version, sweet motors and nice and light.

If you want to go for a blast sometime, let us know, also I have been mucking around with these machines for an eternity so if you need tune up assistance, a w/shop manual or microfiche for the Monza no problems. Have a mate that has a couple of V50's, he knows them inside out too. And I hassle him about them being 'chicks bikes'- thank you for more ammunition:Pokey:

Regards,
Michael.

Hi Michael :)

Good to know theres more monza's out there. I haven't seen any others around yet and its a pretty step learing curve getting an old bike. It would be great to go for a ride sometime too :)

I've tried Club habitat but they were all booked out except for campsites. Theres a few other places in turangi that i'll check out though. Shame i didnt get my act togeather sooner. Still it should be a good weekend :)

Oh and Monza's are definately girls bikes. Why else would they be so little and low to the ground??

Hello from UK,
I'm going to be in NZ in November and I see that you are mentioning a Guzzi rally in Turangi sometime soon - I won't be riding a Guzzi in NZ, but if there's a Guzzi do on I would like to catch it - could you please let me know the dates.

Thanks

I'm afraid I will miss it, I don't arrive in NZ until 3 November!
Thanks anyway.
Will be passing through Auckland on my way to/from Cape Reinga 6/7 and 10/11 November - going to be based in Morrinsville.
May see you around.

Funny you should say that, I haven't acutally seen a Monza on the road since the rally (and apart from my mate's one), except last Friday morning on Rosebank Rd a nice red one went past.
I have been looking out for a Monza frame and petrol tank to put a 750 small block motor into, I have all the rest of the bits to build it, to make a mini Mk1 LeMans replica for my g/f. Should have the same power-weight as a real Mk1, well that is what I am aming for as the 500's are a little down on acceleration.
Did you get the rally thing sorted?
I am meeting up with some mates from up norf on Friday morning @10am Shell Westgate to go down. Left a thread in Meetings & Events.

Hmm, well it wasn't me on rosebank rd. There must be another one cruising around. Its wierd how they come out of the woodwork, hopefully they'll be loads at the rally :) Your plan for a little Mk1 sounds good, very lucky girl.

I took mine out to hamilton to stretch it's little legs today, you're right about the acceleration but once they get going it's just lovely :) I'm heading down saturday morning, by myself at this stage :( If you see me around come say hi, I'll be the little blonde looking very lost and out of her depth :)
