Just got this email im keen the last ride there was mean. You dont get riding like that any where else that i have found. Tank tracks are lots of fun. Just dont skip accroos one tapped on a 125 because it hurts ive seen it. (Sticking to track helps lol)

Suzuki Alpine Express is back!!!

Get out your camouflage gear because the SUZUKI ALPINE EXPRESS TRAIL RIDE IS BACK!!!

The event will blast off 13-14 December in the Waiouru Army training land.

Epic Events first ran Alpine Express in November 2004 with huge success attracting around 1000 riders per day. Riders just loved the fast open paddocks with big jumps, tussock hill climbs, dual tank tracks, down hills, sandy river beds and massive views.

The 2004 camp site atmosphere was amazing with heaps of entertainment including the famous ‘long jump', a motorcycle trials demonstration from NZ Champ Warren Laugeson, a ‘trail sprint' held in the small section of pine tress near the base plus night time big screen DVD of all the event action.

I have lost control of how many e mails I have had since 2004 asking me ‘when are you going to run that Army ride again Nick'? So I am super excited to be given an opportunity to run another trail ride in the Waiouru army land.

The 2008 event will combine all the good features of the Suzuki Alpine Express event held in 2004 and the Suzuki Sand Blast event held in December 2005. There will fantastic tracks, camping, evening entertainment, pre ordered meals etc. The Waiouru Army Zones offer incredible riding in a unique part of New Zealand so this is a rare opportunity not to be missed.

Epic Events will be working with the Waiouru Motorcycle Club to put on the event. The club members have excellent knowledge of the best riding areas in the Army zones and also know how to make sure the event meets army standards.

Yeah I'm def there, it was great last time, there is a mix of stuff, not just all out blasting. Quite cool what is in that area. Huge lake etc. Of course access is restricted & you'd have to be stupid to go there not on a ride.:pinch:

Bummer same weekend as Mr Motocycles ride at Paparimu, last year this was a awsome ride & very muddy,so my preference will be supporting the local ride,if it was on a different weekend i wouldn't hesitate going.

Did this one the last time (in '04). It was one of the very best for variety of riding terrain, scenery and challenge. Although there was a thousand bikes the tracks cover such a huge area it was never congested. A memorable ride for sure and not to be missed. I'll be there.
