FROSTY

Due to the large number of super serious types on this forum I have proposed that any posts or threads taking the piss be ended by the letters ( PT )
That way those of us unable to understand ribbing ,taking the piss, pulling the leg or other buffoonery can sit back and relax knowing we're just havin a bit of fun. :devil2:
Sheesh people we all be freinds here OK
cept of course for that sheep shagger JIM2 or that oily wretch Paul in NZ

Meh, I'll forget, and then people will think that I'm a weird old man. Or something. So I think that everyone should just take all my posts as if I'm off my tree, or on some drugs. Or just taking the piss.

Or something

Aw, c'mon frosty... That's what :msn-wink: and  and :Pokey: and :eyepoke: are all for.

See now I thought :eyepoke: was more along the lines of 'you dumbarse' and :Pokey: more meant 'bring it on'.

The :msn-wink: seems suitable - but it does have 'come to neverland little boy' connotations.

The:laugh: is just a little too obvious.

 <-- if you actually hover over this smiling in the list it actually says 'roll eyes (sarcastic).

Maybe, what we need is a 'hand on heart' (or hand on bible? whoops nother thread) smiley so people know when we're not taking the piss...then we can all abuse that too

If people can't figure out nuance or recognise the trip trap tropping of trolls on their bridges, that's their problem.

There are way too many irritating signs used already in the form of the dreaded smilies, without adding another.

One day I shall meet the inventor of the "emoticon". When I have completed my ministrations he should be able to tell me if the epithelium of his rectum is striped or not...

Sorry to bring up something other than the thing , but, <_<
the use of the smiley emotions is a integral part of the online communication process! The "artful" use, of the most appropriate emotion smiley, (which can sometime take some time to choose), can convey just the right meaning to any given sentence. :niceone:
I am saddned, that our great and masterful MS Hitcher 50+ programe hasn't the sensitivity to acknowledge this wonderful communication help! :bash:

Funny that the meaning doesn't appear to change in the absence of smilies...

Maybe that's what the Bible needs (he said, alluding to a conversation currently running on the Scottish thread), smilies!

My heart aches, and a drowsy numbness pains
My sense, as though of hemlock I had drunk,
Or emptied some dull opiate to the drains
One minute past, and Lethe-wards had sunk:
'Tis not through envy of thy happy lot,
But being too happy in thine happiness,--
that thou, light-winged Dryad of the trees,
In some melodious plot
Of beechen green, and shadows numberless,
Singest of summer in full-throated case.

Smilie that, you illiterates! [Courtesy of the "Keats" button on "the thing"]...

It's all about context.
Some people sound like they need smilies in books too or perhaps they don't read.
Or maybe they need Judy Bailey to emote so that we plebs know how to feel about things. (all said deadly seriously)
