do not ask any questions as it'll be a scam and your account may get taken over!
....or it may not be and it's a stupidly good deal but judging by the evasive answer to the 1st question I'd be VERY wary

When you go to the flop.co.nz website their online price comes up as $28980.00 (which is about right for a parallel imported 1098).
I think they're trying to buy publicity & traffic for the 735pm.com and flop.co.nz websites. But it would be a very expensive way to do so.

As above..The bikes have all gone through the On Road NZ process are newly registered & warranted ready to ride away. We are an established business based in Nelson. Your welcome to call & speak to us. We are dedicated to bring NZdrs prices that are more realistic. Often Kiwis pay far more for products than people pay from outside New Zealand, for the very same product. We are levelling the playing field a little. If you have a friend in Nelson your welcome to see the bikes. 6:02 pm, Thu 9 Oct
They list contact details and state you are welcome to see it. If you are serious call them and confirm if they will be happy with a bank cheque on collection once you have viewed the bike and confirmed it is as per the auction description.

I've dealt with Kiwi Internet a couple of times through my work and they seem above board, Alan Trent is fairly well known around the district.

Shite thats cheap. Even Ducati USA quote: 2008 MSRP $15,995 ($27,000 NZ) as RRP.

seem pretty real to me if they are offering contact details so you can come have a look
besides just because the reserve is 21k doesnt mean it wont go for more

Probably withdrawn for:
1. Listing contact details in the auction
2. Advertising a third-party website

Seller Comment:
Hi, We had to change over to a business membership on Trade Me and in that process had to relist our current Items.. Sorry for the inconvenience as this means the previous questions wont show. If you have any unanswered questions please feel free to repost. Those that wanted to come look at the bikes. You can gain my contact via the one of our properties for sale (check other listings) Warranty information is on flop.co.nz or 735pm.com.. Thanks Aly administration.
Sounds more possibly legit. You can see and touch it before buying - not a normal scamming technique.
Still A Ducati is just a poor mans Hyosong - so Im not bidding. p/t

There is no such thing as a cheap ducati
servicing and spares cost a fortune
life expectancy of motors is not high, about 20,000 miles and the top ends need attention
brake calipers can not be rebuilt, they are a throw away item
Great fashion accessories though

It doesn't have to be expensive if you can do some DIY and care to look around for spares.
New OEM spare parts do cost a fortune, but it's easy enough to find good used parts these day.
OEM sparkplugs, $30!? :shit:
If find most dealers around here charge $80/hour + gst for labour, no difference if it's my 50cc scooter or my Ducati.

The current underbidder on the auction is a well-known Auckland based importer. Wonder what he's playing at?

Alan Trent is a well known, wealthy Nelson businessman of American extraction. See the auction is live still http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Motorbikes/Motorbikes/Sports/auction-181709315.htm
Someone will get a good deal.
