That I,
Constantly think about my first upcoming race,
Am spending every spare moment on here...,
Have read Keith Code's Twist 'o' the wrist 6 zillion times,
That my wifes happy that Im going to race,
that Im spending to much money...'
That instead of actually doing anything around the place,Im a permanent fixture alongside my bike...
That instead of thinking about sex im thinking about(you guessed it) racing...:shifty:
That if Im not on here, Im on Trademe or ebay looking for goodies for yup, my bike...
That 'cause Im not doing any work that Im thinking of selling my soul to pay for it.....:devil2:
That I think if I polish my bike enough that the reduced drag will make up for the performance mods I cant afford...
That my Dogs give me dirty looks 'cause I dont pat them anymore:no:
That if it rains the weekend after next I think I'll go postal...:2guns:
Or am I just obsessing ?

Yes....

Its gets worse.....

Having broken most parts of your body over many years of racing including your neck and back plus spent most of your money on it you'll still be addicted

No, it's not normal that your wife's happy.
Perhaps she's got someone else...

My wife is happy I race and has supported the racing through some dark times in relation to hospital visits etc.......

She's knows I want/need to race and says as she enjoys the good times of winning so much she has to accept there will sometimes be not so good times...

Having a wife thats backs racing is very very important!!!!

The number of people I know who have hassle from home about racing is huge and their wives turn up very rarely. If the support stopped from home then I'd pack in racing tomorrow, how ever much I want to race!

There are more important things ultimately.

Oh how true.....having a wife that
1) let me use her redunancy money to buy a $30,000 race bike and then spend another $10,000 on.....
2) Do 8 international racing trips and planning #9 currently

I can speak from experience, it makes life much easier....

Puddytat - you need to be level headed though & balance it all out - find another interest as well to obsess about !!!!

Hey get your wife involved here and make sex a race - see who finished first and let them do a victory lap of the looser.

Don't forget to:

Ensure you have good 'rubber'

Warm up the engine first

Have her adopt the 'racing crouch' (head down, bum up)

And for god's sake try not to fall off.........

Don't forget round two

Nope she doesnt, but she has a brother if anyones interested.....

Mind you, if I could clone her that'd be a way of funding the racing :shifty:

Oh no !!! Now I got to be paranoid as well as obsessive....A paranoid obsessive with psychotic overtones...sounds serious:lol:

Mind you it might come in helpful on the track

1/ Sounds pretty normal except the SEX bit.

2/ My partner is very supportive of my racing efforts but that would not last long if item 1 was not taken care of !!!

The really tragic part is that (like the rest of us) you will continue even though you understand all of this . . . . . . . . . . . . the things we do for a thrill !
