I know Plexus is fantastic for use on plastic bits and visors etc. But can I also use it to buff up a painted (black) metal tank? It is a brand new bike so doesn't need anyhard core polishing/cutting etc. just to get back the shine and remove swirls after washing.
Thanks for your help

Yup. I've done that a lot. Paint is just a form of plastic, after all.
Of course, Lemon Pledge is more betterer.
And cheaper.
And smells purty.

For what you want, Meguiars ScratchX is a good product. It's designed to do exactly what you describe.... remove swirls and light scratches from modern clear coat paints. It's bloody excellent, wouldn't want a black bike without it :)
/edit: Pledge is pretty good for fairings, but doesn't fill in the very light scratches that cause blooming on visors the same as Plexus. Nice n cheap though, good for fairings foh shizzle.
