What's the point, N.Z should'nt even waste it's time with doing ANYTHING green until the U.S and China etc sort themselves out, we will be doing our bit yet they will stay the same and thrash their environment, their toxins will eventually reach here one way or another, so there is no point.

They've got to get everybody UP to pressure first. LOCAL goverment's will have to pay first. The pressure will be on them...

There is a wee point they have overlooked. In factories, showers are often classified as a safety device. And must have an adequate flow of water.
So they cannot dribble down those, which means that all one need do is obtain one of the full strength factory units.

Hallelujah brother! Let them try to reduce our pressure, they wont be able too! We live top of the hill, just marginally below the reservoir, I already run around to get wet under our shower...LOL
Bring back tank water!

ECO-TERRORIST!
Burn him!
You are not permitted ANY dumps unless they are into a composting toilet, and you recycle your dumpage.
Next weeks legislation from the Green party will be to make flush toilets illegal. And appoint dump inspectors to make sure you are doing it with proper ecological correctness.
Truly politically correct Greens do not dump at all, that is why they are so full of crap. When the pressure builds up to an uncontrollable point , they expel it back up the way it came. Which is why they talk so much crap.

You could of course quite easily mount a cistern in the ceiling, as the Poms do, and overcome that problem.

Then you can pee, poo, and shower...at the same time ...???
Ixion
10th October 2008, 17:40
Well, y' can do that in any shower, is it not ?
However, for the avoidance of doubt , be it noted that when the Poms say 'cistern' they do not mean what we do by it. They mean a small tank, usually squarish.

True that, but...
If we are going to spend any money improving things like that it will be to get gas hotwater, mains pressure, bliss a proper shower. I LOVE going places where there is pressure. The camp we stay at in summer has the meanest pressure, you are limited to 5 mins which is enough for me (the kids hate it :killingme) the difference good pressure makes can not be explained to a bloke with next to no hair to wash. (apologies for any offense caused, I was actually referring to my lovely hubby, not you here :blip:)

Most true Greens are Feral and dont shower or have a bath, run around in the bush nerked hugging trees, so if you stan still in the bush long enough some feral stinking hairy greenie will give you a hug.

Cool, I am going to join the shower police! Popping up in a shower near you to measure your flow rate! "Scuse me ma'am, don't want to rain on your parade but.......oops, you've dropped the soap!"

If ya green enough, and standing still enough, they're more likely to pee on ya, than hug ya...

I dont know what you "derestricted", but flow restricters are found at the boundry, just inside the Toby valve, and made of Brass. Most rural water scheme's have serious penaltys for removing those... Pressure reducers, also should not be touched. They can cause serious problems (leaks) to entire low pressure systems. Make sure you know the difference... I've installed plenty of both.

the yellow washer with a hole for restriction is what i removed from the shower hose, how the fuk they restrict shower at boundry and not effect the rest of the building? plumbing is not rocket science anyway , you just need to know shit goes downhill and pay day is thursday

Yea fuck em - I am getting a lil sick of these pricks telling me what to do all the time. The really queer thing is - we all collectively pay these wankers salaries. I hate those narrow minded socialist politicians!:angry2:

True, true......you WILL have double glazing, you WILL have your shower flow restricted, you WILL pay a higher rate of power if you do not have a hot water cylinder, you WILL bend over and take it and what's more, you'll like it!

It's true that they're the worst polluters, but we need to set an example or they can easily say the exact same thing about us. It's just lazy to pass responsibility onto others anyway.
I'm not green by any means. I still ride 2 stroke dirt bikes whenever I get the chance. Like to think I'm better than most people being environmentally conscious though, like throwing stuff in the bin rather than the gutter and not getting every single Ipod that's released.

ohh, plus decontamination showers, lol, 20L/M at 700 kpa, get hold of one of those, your own personal standpipe key and bar, a length of hose, a portable pump and you can beat the system! (may not be suitable on a cold winters morning!:cold:)

I know what your saying, and I used to agree with you on setting the example etc, until I went there, and I can confidently say our efforts are a total waste of time, my own stepmother throws her glass bottles (she drinks shit loads of this stuff called SOBE) and instead of recycling it (ok it's basically her water- so say about 60 bottles at least a week between her and the old fulla, it's a health drink) she throws it into the common garbage because the recycling truck coming around is actually worse for the environment than recycling the bottles......NO SHIT!!! And that is a very common perception. They consume so much, even in the way they drive they just abuse their right to petrol, and thrash the very environment around them (americans) that's why I think us suffering with shitty shower pressure when the worst polluting countries are doing nothing is bollocks, fuck it, let us live and not suffer because of other countries total ignorance.

"Join us on a remarkable 25-day journey by luxury private jet," invites the WWF for a price that starts at $64,950 per person, travelers will meet at the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando, Fla. on April 6, 2009 and then fly to “remote corners” of the world on a “specially outfitted jet that carries just 88 passengers in business-class comfort.” “World class experts — including WWF’s director of species conservation — will provide lectures en route, and a professional staff will be devoted to making your global adventure seamless and memorable.” Travelers will visit the Amazon Rain Forest in Brazil, Easter Island, Samoa, Borneo, Laos, Nepal, Madagascar, Namibia, Uganda or Rwanda, and finish up at the luxury Dorchester Hotel in London. This is the very same WWF that says “the current growth in [carbon dioxide] emissions must be stopped as soon as possible” and that blames Americans for emitting 21 percent of global CO2 emissions even though the U.S. accounts for only 5 percent of the global population.

I've successfully been made to feel guilty all the time, which should warm the cockles in the hearts of green MP's. Don't think I'll change my mind anytime soon.
