as a returning rider after some twenty something years off a bike and not having ever bothered about a bike licence years ago and just jumped on the trumpy and rode it, i, like a shit load of others on here have had to do things properly and get a licence and a 250.i no you can get exemptions etc but there are some good and fast enough bikes out there so wont bother plus my wife wants to get hers as well so no need for bigger.i have read alot of your questions about 'what type of bike' should i get.i bought a kawasaki eliminator and they are great.jumped on it and rode it from akld to tauranga not a problem.didnt bother with the 70k speed but didnt put the geek plate on either.some of you will say im a dick for not obeying laws but every ones entitled to their opinion. These are 'in my opinion" a excellent bike.cruise at 100 no probs and with more to spare, are comfy, and im 6'3.i use it for work which is a 25k ride each way of open road cruising and will be plenty of rides else where.thanks for reading and a awesome and interesting site we have here. ::P.S REMEMBER EVERY ONE IS ENTITLED TO A OPINION....

Yer I say good on you too.

Most on here just get pissed if somebody rides against the law, knows about it, but still moans when they get done for it.
Do you head to the mount for work? I do that ride every day for school.

If you're going to be riding frequently on the motorway without an L plate I would suggest setting up a front company and registering the bike under it's name so when the cops do a plate check, it comes back as an anonymous, meaningless name, as opposed to Bob Smith, L-Plate rider, lives here etc.

The only thing getting hurt is your wallet... if ya get pinged... Dont attract any attention from the law...
