..riding the old mans 1100gs.
He let me go down a back road here in te puke which was a total of maybe 20km.
At the moment I have the mighty GN and a restricted license at 15 and apart from that I've had a go on a 250 zeal for a few km and a 650 around the backyard. Apart from growing up on the back of his bike I've been on the back of a FJR, GSXR and K1200R but never ridden anything big.
The bike is actually easier to ride than it looks, the hardest is moving around at walking speed.
Now I know that the bike has maybe 70hp at the back wheel but has a bit more torque than I expected.
Pulling out of our driveway he told me to take it easy so up into 2nd and a bit of throttle and oh shit oh shit, up goes the front so take it a little easy.
I can say that at 120 it doesn't even feel like it does on the gn, unless I looked at the speedo I wouldn't have known how fast I was going.
Rolling on the throttle in 5th isn't fast but it still pulls and pulls.
There were a few 45k corners which I did in 3rd and I decided to see what happened when I gave it some gas, firstly it had no hesitation even in the low rpms and then it just pushed me right back into the seat putting a big grin on my face. As I was about to change into 4th I saw 130 on the speedo which was the biggest surprise as my 3rd gear gets me up to about 80k near the redline.
So yer my first experience riding a big bike and I hope to do it more =D
