hey there folks.

when i brought my bike i noticed it didn't have any number plate lights.
the guy i got it off made his own tail tidy, and never fitted any cause he never rode at night.

i've purchased a set of 2 led lights suitable for the job,but was wondering if anyone could tell me what the law states about mounting them to the number plate,as there's nowhere else to mount them.or could you direct me to a website that has the appropriate info?
i can't mount them directly in the middle as it has an underseat exhaust that's very close to the plate.

i was kinda hoping to mount them through the top edge of the plate, and put one either side 3-4 inches in from the outer edges, as that's probably the only easy solution, but was wondering if that is o.k. by law?

any help would be much appriciated
cheers,
naph.

I'm guessing here, but I'd bet it doesn't matter how they are mounted / how its lit as long as you can read the plate at night from a distance?

i'd say that as long as it is'nt blocking any of the number's on your plate and it light's up your number plate it should be fine. just make sure that the light is'nt pointing out the back of your bike

cheers people :2thumbsup

some good info here.
i've also realised that i'm going to need a reflector after reading that previous thread

i might see if i can get a bracket made up to fit behind the plate,to hold the lights, reflector, and the wof and rego.
