Guys,
I'm sick of riding in my tattered old jeans, crappy 3,000 year old boots (literally) that are falling apart so I'm looking for some new stuff..

I'm a trail rider, so don't need the state of the art stuff.. but I'm looking for a pair of boots (reasonable, dont want crap but not really wanting to pay heaps either), some reasonable pants and perhaps some sort of armour etc nothing too flash, don't want to look too wank.

And I'm riding a klx300 so cut me some slack already..

Thanks for the opinions...
Brands, prices, where to buy etc all good!!

hello dave

I wish you were closer - I could help you personally, I get good deals all the time - especially as now is the time of year when all the new stuff is coming in for the new season.- There is loads of last seasons stuff getting pushed out at great prices. ask at your local shops, tell them that you want last seasons stuff. or go here; - Richard at www.topfun.co.nz or here; Michael at www.sxcycles.co.nz
they are both online stores and have specials all the time. tell them I sent you -and it might not do any good at all! but you never know

Way better option is to go on holiday to south america and have a good time traveling around... and just by chance happen to walk by a bike shop and make some excuse to the wife about just checking out some stuff and that you will catch up with her later... hehehehe

I went to argentina last year and got a full Acerbis kit for $519USD (about $800NZD last year) Pants, Long Sleve Shirt, Boots, Armor Vest, Helmet and a pair of Scott OTG (Over the Glasses) Goggles...
Compared to the cost over here i priced up $1997 all up

Scott Goggles - $99
Acerbis pants - $499
Acerbis shirt - $120
Acerbis armor vest - $399
Acerbis Helmet - $390
Acerbis boots - $490

All i had to do was spend $10k for a return trip for the wife and I to Argentina. also Peru and Ecuador for 6 weeks plus about $4k extra for personal expenses.

Trademe is my hangout for clothing, sure nothing matches but it's new kit & cheap :) + leaves more money for alloy bike parts.

P.S. I'll add a pitch for Scott @ mrmotorcycles.co.nz he's got some good bargains on combo kits & does a good deal, also cycletreads.co.nz are worth a look.

and cycletreads (Auckland) are having their sale at present with some sharp prices. Which leaves you with online unless you're up here visiting our wonderful city.
